Quarter Flip Side Windows
The Ford Bronco II owner’s manual has a section for ‘Quarter Flip Windows‘ but for decades I had never found a Bronco II that had that option or anyone that had seen the option. For a long time, there was speculation that Ford deleted the option before the Bronco II ever went into production. Then there was a rumor that the option only made it into the first months of production’
In November 2020 Jonathan Gillan discovered this 1984 Ford Bronco II listed on Facebook Marketplace in Tennessee, and when he noticed the distinctive features of the side windows, he made the trip from Pennsylvania to Tennessee to purchase it.
According to the federal sticker above, the Bronco II has a special-order DSO #52 which means that this Bronco II was a special order from the Dallas Texas district sales office. It also shows that it was manufactured in 03/1984.
Jonathan purchased a Marti Report for the Bronco II and found that it was ordered on 10/07/1983 as a ‘Test Vehicle’.
