What did you do today to your Ranger/Bronco...etc

Forgot earlier to mention I replaced the positive battery to solenoid cable, and installed new alternator and power steering belts. Also figured out that the wheels on my utility trailer are actually Ford Ranger/Bronco 2 wheels. Now I just need new tires, as I figure if the wheel for the spare tire doesn't match I could care less, and considering my B2 looks like crap anyhow having matching wheels is the least of my worries.

Swapped out the ignition and door locks on my BII so they all use the same key. Wet sanded the clear coat on the hood of the Ranger to bring the shine back.

Replaced new warn manual locking hubs! One of my old ones failed on me when I was heading home to the farm. Liked the rain, but the road was pretty bad!

Finally installed fog lights, been wanting to do this for over a year. Decided to order everything on Monday and picked up the last of the parts this morning. All parts are Ford, no aftermarket was used. 1 fog light is new, valance is new and 1 fog light is used but looks new.

Looks better, Bro!! How did you mount the fog lights to the valance? Are they mounted to the valance or to the bumber with brackets? Do you have the part numbers for the mounting kit?

How about things you have done to your truck,and thought,what the @#$ was I thinking.Last week I had my gears installed in the front and got it home,and thought I would spin it over with an ''IMPACT WRENCH'' to listen for any unusual noise.That was stupid,tools and alchohol is not a good combination

Looks better, Bro!! How did you mount the fog lights to the valance? Are they mounted to the valance or to the bumber with brackets? Do you have the part numbers for the mounting kit?

The fog lights mount directly to the bumper, all the holes needed to mount em' were already there. I used 4-- 1/4-20 bolts 1" long and 2 5/16-18 bolts 1" long. The fog lights came/come with the needed bracket, nothing else is needed. Simply bolt the fog light assembly to the bumper with 3 bolts on each side, install the valance and you're done.

My truck was pre-wired, and I installed a new bezel w/fog light switch and relays last fall.

FYI--The valance I used is a Part # F87Z-17626-CAA. Got it thru the local stealership for 52.77, cheapest aftermarket I could find was over $60 shipped.

Cranked up the Ranger........The tailpipes looked a little sooty. I knew the carb was set right so I decided to yank a plug wire to check the spark...

I was right...it has a weak spark...but my elbow is still sore where it bumped the sheetmetal.....about 9 times....

found an OEM resistor in the key-on hot wire going to the HEI coil....removed it.....

DIDN"T bother to "re-test" the spark........I'll just check the tailpipes!

VA meds and Common Sense don't mix.........

Cool. Thanks for the info. I bought the valance and the fog lights brand new on Ebay last year. I was just wondering how the fog lights got mounted. I guess I will find the brackets and get it installed this summer when I am doing my other goodies I am planning on doing as well. This addition reall changes the looks of the Ranger.

It makes the front look more aggressive. I thought about going to a newer bumper (04-05 style), but the amount of chrome on the stocker and the condition of my bumper swayed me away from doing it. Glad I did, IMO the 98-00 bumper w/fogs looks sick.

Removing the old valance is a PITA. I tried to salvage my old one as it was in great shape. After 20+ minutes of fighting it and several knuckle busters I decided to throw caution to the wind and rip the sucker off. 30 seconds later, removal was complete and the old valance was in the garbage.

Washed, waxed and detailed the truck this morning. Took 4 hours and my hands/elbows hurt like hell. Time for a beer or three.

My Front Passenger Tire decided it wanted a divorce at 65mph. So what's this with blow outs and people flipping their vehicles? I didn't have a problem, the blow out scared the shit out of me but I just let it coast to almost a stop as I pulled over. I think that will patch right up with some duct tape LOL.

Yea shoot that will buff right out. The reason most people wipe out is because they slam on the brakes, thats an almost for sure crash and burn, glad you didnt get injured man.
