What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

I haven’t figured out how to get the Tremor stickers off the bed sides without damaging them yet. You may have to buy them new.

I got a few things done after I got home from work today.

I installed the JCR Offroad engine cover I’ve had for way too long. It’s supposed to help with the water in the spark plug boot issue:

I installed the rear Fox 2.5 piggyback shocks. I had to straighten out a bent passenger side lower shock mount. It looked like it took a few hits in the rocks. I guess I’ll have to build some skid plates for the shock mounts.

Out with the old (10K miles old):

In with the new:

In case anyone ever installs a set of these… DO NOT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. If you do, the passenger side reservoir will hit the upper mount at full droop. If you turn the shock 180° the axle tube will smash one of the adjusters. You need to loosen the piggy back lock nut and rotate the reservoir 90° toward the middle of the truck.

I also installed some more of the RCI full skid plate kit. I’ll finish that up tomorrow and post some pics.

I may have misunderstood, but I thought you had installed the engine cover already.

It’s been sitting in the box since I bought it well over a year ago. I picked it up from my other house last weekend.

I removed the crash bars from behind the front tires. At the same time, I pulled the inner fender liner and removed the plastic panel from behind it. It trimmed about 1” out of the thickness and reinstalled it. I had to drill a few holes to zip tie the fender liner at the bottom, but it gave me a good amount of extra clearance for when I go to bigger tires.

I already removed the front ones when I installed the TJM bumper. I don’t know why everyone talks about having to cut them to remove either the front or rear. If you take everything out of the, they just come right out.

I modified the hi-lift jack mount I had sitting around and mounted the jack to my roof rack.

I may have to move it some to clear the RTT when I pick it up from my other place on Monday.

While I was at it, I finally ran the wiring for my amber light bar on the front of the roof rack. I really don’t need more light with the airplane landing lights on the front bumper and the ditch lights… but what the hell.

But before I did all that, I finished up the skid plate set install. I added the trans, transfer case, and “catalytic converter protectors”. (They’re supposed to make it harder to steal the cats.)

What is the advantage of the amber light bar over white? Less glare off the hood?

It was on sale for 1/3 the price of the white one.

I’ve read that amber/yellow light is much better in adverse weather conditions. There’s supposed to be a lot less glare from yellow. It’s supposed to bounce back less light off of snow and dust. We shall see.

The glare off my hood don't care what color I run haha. Being said, I've been told. That if you put a metal plate under it, sticking out about an inch it will eliminate the hood glare. I haven't tried it yet.

I think that is part of the reason why the old school trucks mounted their lights on the roll bar mounted in the bed.

Fine if you're bar isn't too short and shines half the light into the cab anyway.
