Hey guys just picked up some headers for my 02 ranger but im seeing that its quite the job to get out the left and right exhaust manifolds. Are there any tips to make this any easier?

If it's not broken Don't Fix It!
Use a hot wrench, a Oxygen Acetylene torch, to heat up the nuts/bolts that hold them on. This will help with removal.

When you figure something out that works the first time, every time, let me know haha. Still have my new manifolds laying on a shelf due to my lack of courage in removing mine.

Torches work well, just watch destroying your heads in the process due to overheating the aluminum heads/setting fires.

All else fails, walk into your nearest feed store and ask for RDX. Should look like the photo attached. (Note: probably not a good idea, and I'm not responsible for the crater)

The 2.9/4.0 is not as prone to snapping studs as some other Ford engines.

I'd still just take the engine out.
