ive got a 76 axle i rebuilt to swap into my 95 ranger.. well i went ahead and ordered some wheels for it. got them yesterday and noticed an issue? wheels are 15x10 with a 4inch back spacing. the edge of the wheel is extremely close to the knuckle area next to the tierod . its not hitting tho. think it would be alright to run it like that? also iam doing the one ton tie rod y link set up. is the one ton tie rod physically bigger than the factory bronco tie rod? if so then i can see that being a problem with the wheels. i had 2 crappy 15x8s that were on the back of the truck when i got it and put one on for comparission and theirs quite a bit of room between the rim and the knuckle. figured id get your opinions on it. i went with the 10inch wheels because iam running 15x10s and 35s now. 2nd question. i ordered a y link steering kit. what the pro/con to running the linkage under the knuckle vs over the knuckle? :icon_confused:

Considering your knuckle turns at the same rate as the wheel, I don't see a problem with it. As long as it's directly beside the wheel itself and not the tire. The bulge from the sidewall could cause a problem or two if that's the case.

What gm (not actually one-ton) tie rods will you be using (part #), I may be able to check them against a stock tie rod if we have the same parts

pretty sure he's using the ruffstuff kit

Yeah, there's no issue with that as long as there's still enough clearance for any balancing weights to clear. If worse got to worse, a ¼" wheel shim (spacer) would easily get that to clear.

Why a Y-link? I'd use a T-link any day over that on a solid axle setup.

he is doing a t link setup, just got the terms wrong apparently

guys got another question for everyone.. just got my axle under the truck and everything seems great except for my brakes.. theres barely and pedal.. its right on the floor. iam running explorer disc rears with the eb calipers . i was running the stock ranger calipers and ex rear and stoped on a dime.. literately .. what do you guys think? still have air in the system

I would say yes, just bleed the crap out of them.

hopefully thats the problem.. guess ill find out tomorrow!

Calipers on the right sides? (Bleeder screws at the top)

bleeed the snot out of them, also the rear. use a vaccum pump and suck the air out, way faster and firmer end product. as for wheel weights ,use the stick on type inside the wheel so rocks and stumps dont pop them off. as for clearance you have way more room than mine , and i have no issues.also run solid u joints in the outers, those stock shafts will last a lot longer.
