i have a 99 2wd 2.5 5speed i am going to swap in a carb 302 and c4 i just need to know what mounts to get also what headers work with the 99 2wd i have looked all over this site and not alot of info on 99 2wd swaps will i be able to use my drive shaft and just change the front yoke to a c4 yoke i just need all the info i can get thanks guys :icon_confused:

Coil spring or edge?

If torsion bar suspension, you can use Explorer mounts.

If coil spring, you'll need to make plates to go from stock mounts to the 302 block.

Explorer headers may work, but they are very poor design.
C4 yoke is the same as what you have now, length will depend on where you place the motor.

cliffs: make your own mounts and headers.

how do i tell the coil from torision bar suspention apart and if i have coils i have to make the mounts? i cant buy them anywhere ?:icon_confused:

If you have coil spring, you have coil spring suspension...
There is a "guy" that makes the plates you may need. Keep searching.

ok i have coil springs anyone have clue where or how to get the mounts. also i have a good 2.5 engine and 5 speed 115,000 miles fore sale runs great :headbang:

The one to contact for the plans (he doesn't make them) is :Blackburn, Brian

Let me know if he doesn't get back to you soon. The only "good" stock Explorer manifolds are the cast iron ones if you are staying with a mild build. Anything more than that you are looking at custom or the Torque Monster headers that run about $780.

headers from a 70s f150 work perfect

headers from a 70s f150 work perfect
How do they work in a '98' and newer? Only ones I heard of working at the obsolete FRPP ones, the stock Explorer ones and the Torque monsters - unless you go custom.
Dave

The Explorer has the oil filter angled unit you could get cheap. Teddy posted some pictures awhile back. I'll dig up a picture of what the mounts look like or look for posts on Explorer mounts.
