So after a month long process of trying to get the right shocks i finally got them in and installed. For the rear I went with Bilstein shocks. The stock ones were totally shot. I could compress them all the way down by hand with out even trying and they wouldnt extend when i let them go.
I decided to get rid of my spacer lift and go with skyjacker lift coils while i was doing the front shocks
If i would have been thinking i would have taken pics of the install or at least a pic of my stock coils next to the new ones. Once i pulled the stock ones off i was really surprised at how weak they had become. I was able to push on the coil and compress it. I couldnt compress it very much but you can only imagine how much it was sagging with the weight of the entire front end on them.
For front shocks i went with Rancho RS9000XL. They are designed for up to a 2'' lift so it works perfectly with a leveled Ranger and they are also adjustable. They have 9 different settings with 1 being soft and 9 being firm. I have them set at 4 right now and will probably start to change it up in a day or so to get a feel for the settings.
The ride with new coils and shocks is totally different. I have less body roll making it more responsive and an overall smoother ride. Im very happy with the mods.
Im still waiting to get my new Ruff Stuff diff cover powder coated but hopefully it wont be too much longer. This thing is bad ass though. I got it in the mail and was really surprised at how beefy this thing is. I was so impressed, i decided to smack it with a shovel a few times.
