I swapped out my bad cluster without tach with a good condition Sport Trac cluster with tach. Everything works without issue except for the tach. It will show proper idle rpms, but will not go above 2000 or so.
I spoke with a mechanic and he stated that the tach needed a ground cable. Apparently the v6-v8 model clusters with tach require it, but the 4cycl models with tach do not.
Does anyone have the wiring diagram the can post for either the 95 4cycl main cluster cable or the 01 sport trac v6/v8 cluster cable? Or maybe you've done the swap yourself and know which cables to move around or add the ground to?
