And not as much fun...

Recently, I've been hearing a ticking noise during left-hand turns. So I jacked up the driver side axle beam, turned the wheels left and rotated it. Didn't hear or feel.anything odd. Then I wiggled the top of the wheel in and out. Ah-ha! A little bit of play. With the 35" tires, I sometimes don't torque the bearing nuts quite enough. I would rather have them a little loose than too tight. But these take "just a bit more" than recommended torque. No problem. I zipped the wheel off so I could tighten the nuts. Removed the hub and found a broken o-ring seal and brown/black grease that was red when I put it in there.

Ok. It's late and I'm not ready for that job. We'll do the bearing clean and pack job next week. I'm working tomorrow and through the holiday weekend. 12hr shifts.

Added an altimeter with roll indicator. Ive6been wanting an aircraft altimeter to install. But working used models are more expensive than I want to pay. This was more affordable. Is 15,000ft high enough?

I didn’t even think to look for that. I could have done that and just got the altimeter without roll angle indication.

I like this statement; “Safe Driving: In order to let you know the road condition better and ensure driving safety,” what kind of idiot can’t look out the windshield and see that “this is an extremely steep hill.”? On a hill like that, staring at the doohickey on the dash is not increasing safety. It’s just for fun.
There will probably be a lot of times when I get through a tough spot and think “Gee. I forgot yo look at my roll inficator.”

When you are wheeling in instrument offloading rules. Similar to IFR for aircraft.

Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway 14,271FT <-- That's a paved road.
Mount McKinley 20,310FT

I can't find any info on the highest off-road drivable point, but suspect it's somewhere between the two.

Not really? We used to joke about a big black rain cloud following us around. But that was more due to the fact that it seemed to rain a lot when we were in port.

The Dace’s keel was laid the year I was born 1964 and it was decommissioned the year I got out of the Navy ,1988. They might have squeezed a few more years out of her except that we had an inoperable torpedo tube and the battery needed replacement again. Some other inspection items were getting close to minimum tolerance, also.
