GPS Speedometer

If I understand correctly, another one of 85_Rangers goals is to have few or, preferably 0 "non-OEM devices" lying around on the dash. His truck still sports a very "period correct" look inside and outside. So, GPS antennas, HUD devices, etc. Are largely undesirable if they can be avoided.

Yes... and no.

For shows it does have a really nice (IMO) period look.

But day to day it looks a lot different.

But I also use the GPS a lot for the speedometer, it was really nice driving with a clean cockpit after the last car show for awhile.

It wouldn't take anything to throw the HUD under the seat with the GPS and the GMRS mic when I want it to look period... This thread was about the speedometer but this whole project is about more than just the speedometer. I also want to get rid of the gauges under the dash.

FWIW, the magnetic mount GPS antenna for my radio is just stuck to the bottom of the dash, and GPS location usually accurate and quickly acquired. Like before I can pull out of the driveway. I have seen it do some weird things before (like location bouncing from one side of the road to the other by several hundred ft.) but I was having phone issues at the time too and it is Android Auto....
