To a 5.0, T-18, doublered, divorce mount "X"cased' offroad beast. :yahoo::headbang:

And, now, the main attraction:

Oh, and for all you Jeep haters: Take a good look, as this what just about everyone around here sees: The back of my Comanche in front of them.

I am not going to bore you folks with the " this is how to pull your motor" pix. But, I WILL show you the drivetrain BEFORE it actually went in:

THAT is a 5.0, T-18, and BW(eewww) 1356 going in.

Okay, I tried the "put the tranny in from under the truck, then hook it to the motor" thing. Wrong-o. So, I did this instead:

all that nice paint on the motor and none on the trans and tcase. get it all painted much easier to clean up after muddin, anything glossy makes it easy to spray everything off

Well, it is going to be coming back out again, as I have to mount my oilfilter bracket on the frame, and the pan is changed to one that I have modded. :icon_welder:

And here is the "why" when I say "and HI":

THAT is not goiing to fit in the frame, so:

Ya' know, that has got to be the easiest tear-down ever on a "X"case. :)

Even the factory shifter boot from a 5 speed fits right:

The tranny shifter and the "hi-lo" box shifters fit just right. The other spot is for the divorce mount "X"case that is going in behind the chopped down (WAY down) BW 1356.
And yeah, I am going to be bending the levers AWAY from my knee.
