Well. I didn't get to do anything today, as my wife stealth-bombed me with a "Christmas party" to go to around 10:00. What happened to the 2 day warning??????? I look some this evening, and most likely tomorrow for an answer.
As life twists out of control, I might be back to the SAS on my Ranger. We'll see. Mainly because I might be moving the 6" Tuff Country lift over to my Explorer...
But I am giving great amounts of thought to pushing the D30 a little more forward than the D35 sits. Depends though, if the steering is going to have interference issues. I can't see pushing more than 1.5" forward... I'm willing to chop/alter/replace the engine crossmember however I need to to make room for the pumpkin...
I think you will find the F150 springs to be too stiff anyway. The TTB springs for a RBV lift are too stiff for SAS also. I know a guy did a cheap lift for his XJ with F150 springs and they were not bad on the street, but once things got bumpy, they were just too stiff and wouldn't flex at all.
I'm going to try the ones I have. They are 21 inches relaxed and give an XJ 6.5 inches of lift but are said to be 150lbs spring rate but I'm doubting it. I'll try these before I buy new ones, cant hurt to try.
My 6" XJ springs are 22" relaxed, and SHOULD be 240pounds... The 4" springs are 20" relaxed and stock XJ springs are about 18" relaxed. But the 6" Skyjacker Ranger springs I've never measured relaxed so I just don't know where they sit relaxed.
