Does anybody know if it is possible to replace the passenger side window motor without removing the whole regulator assembly?

Somebody knows. But it’s not me.

Based on my experience with other vehicles, I would expect that even if it can be done, it’s probably a whole lot easier to remove the assembly.

If it's anything like the older ones there's just 3 bolts or rivets holding the motor onto the whole assembly, I've taken them off of a couple first gen explorers and a '92 Town Car, had to drill out some holes to get to the bolts though

I got it out without to much trouble. Had to drill an access hole for one of the bolts and work blind to get the lower torx screw out that can't be seen, just have to feel around for it. But it wasn't that hard and came out pretty quick and easy. I've got a new one ordered, I'll let you know how it is getting it in as soon as it gets here.

Sometimes they just need some running (brushes/armature dirty), try jumping the wires to a battery to get the motor running. The plate on the side of it has some buffer button things in it, if they're the problem they're available in the Help! section of the parts store... I think it's like $7 for a set of the 3 bumpers...

Got the new one in no problem. This is definitely the way to go if you don't feel like grinding rivets and removing the whole regulator mechanism.
Just had to drill one hole in the inner door to access the one of the bolts. The hidden torx screw that I mentioned earlier was on a bracket that turned out to be held to the door with one screw. Would have been much easier to just remove the bracket with the motor instead of fumbling around blind.
