Do it. Also, sound deaden the dash. Mine rattles like crazy without the stereo, and the airbag is held in by foam. I will be going entire ham on it. By the way, the cigarette ligher ring fits a 22mm latching switch. I'm not sure if that would help you, but it is what I'll be using to switch the remote wire to my amps. I will not be running a head unit at all.
