hello! thought I would post my progress. This is my first build and have almost no influence accept for a couple other rangers. im from Idaho and no one here is really into prerunners. we have tons of open desert and a lot of back country roads so I am surprised!

Picked up some F150 coils for $35 on craigslist. I saw the how to in the tech section and decided to try it

bought a little wire feed welder and a harbor freight pipe bender. I have a little experience with welding from high school but have never taken on a project. I bought 20' of 1 1/2 pipe with schedule 40. I quickly learned how bad notching by hand sucks! but this is the bumper without mounts and without braces in the middle

i want to try and build my own lift brackets. i saw the design your own brackets in the tech section but i am a little lost. i think i need a design with measurements. :icon_confused:

I like the sticker. Have you had any more thoughts about the drop brackets? I would be afraid to make my own without the right tools and some significant experience in fabrication. A broken drop bracket could make for an ugly wreck, especially with no cage. If you do it, be careful and I highly recommend using a powerful enough welder if you can access one. Have you tried the F150 coils yet? If so, how do they ride?

ya I am a little iffy on building my own brackets. I haven't tried the coils yes because I don't want to drive around with my alignment totally f*cked. my buddy keeps borrowing my welder so I haven't made any progress since I posted everything. I plan to get my bumper up and start on a spare carrier. has anyone seen the spare carrier that drops down into a dirt bike ramp? I think I might try to build one! I saw the idea on you tube.

i pick up my drop brackets Friday. I decided against building my own and had Open Dezert build mine. im going to start building a spare carrier next week as well.how much lift do i need to tuck some 35s?
