He is a man, yes.

But... minus some parts... incl. the Adam's Apple? #PartsIzzParts!

Still, he-she did a simply FAB-u-lous "over the top" (flamboyant?) job on that '94 Ranger resto-job!... It's now a $50,000 Gen2 4x4!! :shok:

It's well worth the price, brand new, and highly collectible. Most importantly it's a small truck. It fits in a garage, runs errands and parks in tight places. handles properly on the road. It features a few modern upgrades like Bilstein shocks and a rear Hellwig sway bar, improved ignition too.

Not to me...

to each his own, but those rangers remain popular. Our local dealership mentions that older Rangers in any condition sell fast, usually in less than a week.

I wonder how many he gets $50k for...

Umm, didn't follow the whole playlist, but did "Sarah" even zero-time the engine or tranny? Anyway, I just pulled the $50k figure out of my exhaust port, I'm not sure how much she's actually got into it, but it seems like MANY HOURS of labor, traveling all over the USA, etc. #KillerResult #ProbablyNOTforSale

That $50K was pretty close to what she spent. I believe she rebuilt the tranny but not the engine. If I remember correctly, it was still in good shape, She rebuilt the ancilliaries, even saved as many nuts and bolts as she could, had them recoated with zinc, etc. It would have been less time consuming, but she wanted to restore as much of the original as possible in a sort of a tribute to her grandmom who let her drive it. She deliberately left some wear marks here and there, but otherwise spent a crazy amount of time on it.

It is super easy to get upside down in a restoration, even something desirable.

My secret: ignorance is bliss :icon_thumby:

I found that her restoration was also something of an inspiration. It told me that those older Rangers were really classics, that they served the public well and still do, that they are still well worth restoring, and still serve a certain special purpose today. Yes, of course, they are not the biggest, nor the best, the most powerful. They will not haul your family and friends to a soccer game. They're faithful sherpas that haul smaller loads and fit inside the family garage, park in regular size spaces, and still haul a lot.
