sohc swap info

hi i have a 96 ranger with a 4.0 ohv engine. I am curious to if a sohc 4.0 will bolt up to it?
i have a flashed and also dosent have pats juanco ecm for a 4.o sohc but it was programed to be used with a c4. i mght hit up wan to see if that one will work with a 5speed

will the engine bolt in no problem with crossmember or engine mounts?
also everything the same with flywheel and input shaft splines?

You need to put your existing engine brackets on the sohc. The holes are there.

The bolt count on the flywheel is different, the later flywheel and clutch work with the earlier transmission.

The wiring needed for the SOHC engine is drastically different though.

yes i have the complete engine trans and all wiring also have the dash too,
plus the truck has roll up windows and no power anything but steering and i already made a new hose for the steering box to the pump
also the sohc has a 2wd 5speed trans bolted to it.

anything else i might need or pretty much slam dunk?

Exhaust is different but same diameter

Always replace the 2 long chain tensioners on a used 4.0l SOHC, then do it again in 100k miles, only use motorcraft tensioners

the juanco computer with the c4 tune will work with a 5 speed. when juanco does c4 tunes it just means it has no trans controls.
the old y pipe will work, it just hangs down a little lower under the transmission. i cut and shortened mine to tuck it back up.
