just blast all the crud and dirt off it with a high pressure hose. let it dry good. then take a big brush and a 5 gal pail of fibered roof coating (your choice of silver or black), and put it on as thick as you want. cheap, easy, can always re-coat it as needed, and it also comes in spray cans for the hard to reach spots (the old 'rubberized under body' coating). just a thought.

there was a time before all these new chemicals when, once or twice a year, you would just change your oil and filter, then take the old oil and paint it on to the frame and under body. that's all you had back then. not especially environmentally friendly, but it worked.

im going to do the chassis saver. i was just trying to find an easier way to get rid of the rust than to wire wheel it or sand blast it off.

Don't vote Democrat.
what are you guys comparing rustoleum to a paint that is designed to stop rust and seal the metal. Rustoleum isnt designed to do any of that its just a spray paint. you guys are trying to compare apples to a chunk of meat.
You need to read up on Rustoleum, Downey. That's one of their selling points. Stops rust.

exactly, otherwise they wouldn't include the word rust in their brand name...

it'd be like me making an acne product called clear skin, except the only ingredient is water. completely pointless and doesn't make sense.

rustoleum is definitely meant to inhibit rust. and clearly doesn't always work.
