Welcome to TRS
1995 Ranger was first year with the new EEC-V computer, OBD2.............but not all OBD2 readers work with this year
Engine options
2.3l 4cyl, rare in 4WDs << first year with no ICM(ignition control module)
3.0l Vulcan V6 << first year with no distributor, uses a coil pack
4.0l OHV V6 << first year with no ICM/EDIS-6(ignition control module)
All 3 are very reliable
4.0l did not like being overheated, it WILL get a cracked head if that happens
4WD's had Automatic hubs from the factory, and most had electric "shift on the fly" transfer cases
The Auto hubs can be cleaned and serviced but many chose to swap to manual hubs
Electric shift should be used once a month, just sitting in the driveway, shift to 4high, 4low and then back to 2WD, this keeps the brushes and rotor in the electric shift motor clean
