My 99 is getting about 18 mpg right now. In the summer I've done as good as 22 mpg. I see a huge drop in gas mileage once gas stations up here start switching to winter blend gas, but I've never had my mileage drop that low.

me neither

i was getting around 17 to 18 before i changed my plugs and wires, since then my mileage has always been good on my 99 3.0. around 20 always.... there's got to be something wrong if your mileage is that bad.

i get around 15mpg, 1994 ext. cab 2wd, 3.73 gears w/ 30x9.50 mud tires. can you put a scan tool on the truck and see what engine temperature your computer is reading? something as simple as a bad temp sensor can cause a considerable drop in mileage.

My credo
A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
My 3.0 4x4 Supercab 5-speed got the good MPGs cited above, UNTIL this 10% ethanol CRAP became the norm here in FL... now it's quite a bit lower. :annoyed:

I hate to think what it would be with ALgore's nightmare known as E85. Basically, unless the E85 is 40-50% cheaper than petrol, do NOT get it.

I have a '98 3.0 4x4 with 145,000 and 32" tires just calculated 15.8 mpg from full tank aprox 20 gal, up and down mountain roads and freeway .
i just changed the plugs, wires and MAF sensor

Kinda dissapointed being sqeezed into this underpowered litle bucket of bolts because my full sized '97 F-150 4x4 got 14.5 MPG pretty consistently
We have that damn commie Glo-bull Whatever gas here too and it gets terrible mileage and pollutes like crazy, but it's the flowery peaceful type polution that smells like acorn incense so it's OK for the government to mandate it be crammed down our plenums [/gov hating rant]

What size tank do you have?

My '99 with 31" tires, auto, and 4.10 gears has averaged 21.5 mpg over the last two and a half years I've been keeping records (I drive mostly highway).

I have a '98 3.0 4x4 with 145,000 and 32" tires just calculated 15.8 mpg from full tank aprox 20 gal, up and down mountain roads and freeway .
Is that with the odometer corrections?

It depends on the configuration. Mine has a 20 gallon tank, and I usually get about 200-250 miles on the first half of the tank.
