Yeah it's not quite accurate.

Hate the way new vehicles are made. Stupid nanny systems just add cost and complexity while subtracting from potential enjoyment.

I was real bummed out to find I couldn't slap a 4" spindle on my '10 cause stupid ass advancetrak or whatever.

Then I started hearing about new fords not having gascaps, plastic oil pans, gears welded to carriers and non keyed shafts.. That's really all stupidity id expect from modern European cars.. Not an American one.

Yes - and no. People's decisions are seldom logical, or at least not mostly so. We make decisions emotionally and then use logic to justify them. So image and fashion have a lot to do with what people buy. Guys want to be seen as the kind of guy who drives a truck, even though they almost never do stuff that requires a truck. These tiny truck beds are a major limitation.

Tiny cabs are a limitation too. If I can’t comfortably get a rear facing car seat (or two) in the back it is basically a two seater just like my standard cab ‘85.

I was thinking about an SUV, like a Wrangler/4Runner/Bronco. One day as I was stuffing a big wad of barbed wire in the back of my F-150 I decided that would be a joke when I have to do crap like that.

IMO Ford is going for the old fart market.

All the bells and whistles you could want just like yesteryears Buick with the same exciting Buick color selection.

Look at Toyota or Ram and look at Ford.

Two are gunning for kids fresh out of college that want something fun and exciting to drive to their first real job, one is chasing gray hairs that want something nice to pull their camper or golf cart that isn’t too flashy.

I was making noise to my brother about the Broncos mediocre color selection. He got all defensive about the something like 7 options (most are gray in typical ford fashion). I sent him a screenshot of the Wranglers option list, something like 15 very varied color options. It got real quiet.

Ford: Any color you want as long as it is gray... it even matches your hair!

Back in my day we didn't complain about trucks. You were damn lucky to have a truck! I had to walk to school barefoot UPHILL BOTH WAYS! If you were lucky enough to get to ride to school in an automobile you didn't have anything to complain about!

The ones that actually tell you the pressures are not bad. My wife’s car just has a light and unless the low profile low profile tire is dead flat you have to hunt down the offender and see it is worth fussing over right away or if it will get you home.

I used to get the hotline involved and open T.A.R.'s, is that process still available? I'd also send PSMAC reports and post on the FMCDealer message boards to get input form other dealer techs/managers. I'm convinced Ford doesn't care about whether the dealers are happy but they do care about the customers' opinions.

Hotline is still there but it's become a PC basket-case. I have contacted them in the past to ask about stupid design flaws like this and basically get "Yeah, we know it's dumb, but they don't ask for our opinions before building it". Also, almost all of the good Hotline guys got sick of Ford's BS and left for Chrysler.

I'm not sure what the PSMAC report is, it may have a different acronym now. I was permanently banned from the old message board, and I haven't tried to sign into the new one. From what I understand though the kind of pot I'm stirring is frowned upon and likely to just get me banned again.
