Can anyone tell me the symptoms of a failed Fuel Pump Inertia Switch? Should the reset button stay depressed when I push it in or pop back up?
Also, is there an aftermarket option to replace, or am I stuck with going to the dealer?

Thanks,
Jesse.

If you think the switch is bad then disconnect it and jump the terminals together with a wire. That should make your fuel pump run if that is your problem. Dealer? NO! Go to the junkyard and get one. Any should work from the Ford vehicles.

on the newer trucks it should stay depressed. I assume it is the same on your truck......

Mine stayed halfway down (by my estimate) and was toast.

Like Ex94 said, jump the plug with a wire and see if you hear the fuel pumps.

I was able to hear both fuel pumps running today, and got fuel from the test port on the engine. So if I'm getting gas, it must be electrical/spark related. That's the direction I'm pursuing now.
Thanks everyone for your help.
