I have a 1993 ford ranger, 4x4, 4.0, manual tranny (Bruce Jenner) The keys have been lost to this truck while I was out working. Keep a spare for the door key in the wallet but the door and ignition keys are different. Any way to bypass the ignition lock to where just any key can start it? My ol Toyota ignition switch is so wore out I can just use a flat head to start it. But seeing that in this truck that it isn’t as wore out... what can I do to get the steering wheel to unlock and drive it. Not really worried bout anyone taking the truck and if I have to I’ll replace it all (trying to keep from having to drill it out and looking for a quick fix) but if I can get it to where a screwdriver can start it I’ll be happy with that. I’m even okay with hot wiring it but don’t know where to start on any of this. Thank y’all and have a nice day.

Your Ranger doesn't have one?

Too add on, the door key will go in but will not turn.

I think you'll have to drill it.

When i got my truck it had no keys. So instead of buying another ignition or do some another mickey mouse hack on it, i just got a locksmith to come out and make me keys that fit the ignition as well as the doors. $75 and 3 hours later and it was a headache i didn't have to bother with afterward.

Yes, mobile locksmith would be best

Yes, any Ford keys fit any Ford locks but you just can't turn it if its not the "right" key

If you can unlock the steering wheel then you could pull off the ignition switch under the steering column(above brake pedal area), and slide it manually to start engine
But as said, that doesn't do you any good if you can't steer it, lol.

No, his door key shouldn't fit into the ignition cylinder at all. The offset of the blade should be backwards to keep them from getting mixed up in the dark.

My 1994 doors and ignition fit, interchangeable, also fit some other Fords I had, just wouldn't turn in those :)

My '93 F150 used the same key for door and ignition too.
