You can use the '94/'95 upper intake. It's all custom anyway, so it doesn't matter which direction it's pointed.
An air intake for those years (Mustang)will fit fine, too.

a mustang explorer ranger swap! :p Im excited! also i love how many cheap explorers there are in my area! haha anyone know what driveshaft i will need to use? the ranger or the explorer?! because i might be able to get a 4x4 donor car if im not going to need the tranny or driveshaft

if your talking 4x4 the easiest way will be a straight axle. cause factory 4x4 would have to come out of the same year model ranger, and it may not even work and no matter what driveshaft you get it will probably have to be lengthened or shortened.

what? no i mean a 4x4 v8 explorer as my donor... there are alot more 4x4 v8 explorers around here than 2wd explorers. or is the ecu and wiring harnesses completely different?

No difference between 4x2 and 4x4 in the harness or computer. The number of the computer you need is XDT2 to get a '97'. Not sure but I think someone used a '98' harness to make it easier, eliminated some splicing in the AC circuit. If you are 4x2, for a trans no reason not to use the good old T-5 trans either. Ranger SVT also has a great detailed write-up on his Explorer swap.

cant i get as early as 2000 and it will work? they switched to the 4.6 in 01 right? im assuming the newer the ecu and harness the easier the swap is?

An 05 with no pats? Well the 99-01 explorers will have the pats so make sure you have the key. Also you will need a manual trans steering colume and a manual trans gauge cluster.

01 i believe had both the 5.0 and 4.6

haha like i said my truck has the fewest features i have ever seen in a car or truck! and ultimate goal would be to find a 96-00 explorer thats 2wd and manual but my truck is manual so wont i be able to reuse the steering column and cluster from my truck? no?

Steering column maybe but the dashes are different if you do a dash swap. Its all a matter what u do.

Svt please?
A partial interior swap will give u powered mirrors windows doors locks maybe even cruise control. Your best bet would be to find a manual explorer be what ever year and what ever drive aka 4x2 4x4
