INFO FORScan As Build data spread sheet, 2011 and earlier

Featured Build Threads

I hooked up to my '98 and dad's '01 many months ago before he went into the hospital. Meant to post scren shots, then all that happened and I didn't think about it again. So little available it's hardly worth the effort. Don't recall exactly what the 01 showed, but remember that the only really usable parameter on the 98 was for tire size. There is an entry to adjust revolutions per mile to adjust the speedometer for tire size.

If I think about it in the coming week or so I'll try to find the screen shots and post them.

It would be nice to adjust the tire size on the 2011. It know the indicated speed is about 3 mph slower than what I'm actually traveling. But it would be nice if the speedometer read true, or atleast closer to it.

Here is a link to my list so far. Everything in Red Text still needs to be tested, green text is tested.

It'll be a live document, so as I get more information I'll be adding to it.

Hi, I have a 2011 Ranger Sport supercab RWD manual. I've been playing with FORScan trying to disable the turn lamp hyper flash after changing all the bulbs to LED, but no success so far. My as built data is about the same as yours except the following:
GEM/SJB, 726-01-01, 9600 0000 00C5
GEM/SJB, 726-02-01, 2323 0000 0076
ICM, 720-01-01, 3F01 69 (I was able to disable the TPMS light by changing the 3F01 to 3B01)
I assume one of the blocks in GEM/SJB must control the bulb outage sensor. Please let me know if anyone here has figured it out. Thanks.

From my research in the 2011, not sure how far back it goes, maybe 2008?.

The spedo offset is managed in the ECU, and Forscan does not have the capability to communicate to the ECU on this gen of ranger.

You'll need an aftermarket that can communicate with the ECU, like a tuner would use.

Thanks I've added this to the chart.

Do you have DRL and Fog lights?

For the LED bulbs. Might be easier to install resisters in the bulb circuit to trick the computer.

I've been trying to change the gear ratio in my 2010 ranger from 4.10 to 3.55. I changed the values in the block ID and flashed an update with the new values. Speedo is still wrong.

Any idea why these values can be changed if they don't actually do anything?

What do you mean by an aftermarket that can communicate with ECU? Is this a professional level scan tool or something like that?

I was able to fix the hyperflash on my 2010 by replacing the flasher with an EP27 from Canadian Tire.

After I get all the need fixed now problems. Will reup my forscan. Let it expire after setting up my f150 the way I wanted it. The ranger dont have as many options as f150s. Any way now I have notifications on this subject. Thanks for doing this.

Sorry I missed you reply.

Essentially the gear ratio calculation that controls the speedo and odometer is done inside the ECU. Forescan can not communicate with the ECU on this model, functionality does not exist in the software.

Remember Forescan is an open source software that is developed for free.

A high end scan tool may be able to do it, but no guarantee. Dealer level software would be able to do it (Ford IDS). Alternatively a tuner software like HP Tuners or SCT would also be able to do it.

You could see if a local ford dealer would do it, and how much they would charge. Probably whatever an hour of labor is.

Or you could find a local tuner and ask them to do it. With the tuner you’ll need to pay for whatever tokens they need to unlock the vin in their software ( maybe $50-100), but they hourly rate might be cheaper. Price would probably be a wash.
