I hope this helps. If you need more information about my truck just let me know. As I said, I would like to know how to disable the TPMS. If you can help me with that I would appreciate it.

Ok, if I can get a bit of time to get it done… I will start grabbing information… I need to get Forscan on my green Ranger (2000 Explorer 5.0) anyway so I can get that while I’m on it. There’s some adjustments I’d like to make with the computer if I can get access to them and this sounds like what I was looking for.

If I put some effort in and hook up jumper cables or jump packs, I can access a few candidates for information gathering…

Dad’s 00 Ranger (99/00 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 -this is a maybe if I can access it)

Dad‘s 99 Ranger 4.0 OHV XLT automatic 4x4

Mom’s 2002 Explorer 4.0 SOHC XLS (I believe) automatic 4x4

2002 Ranger 4.0 SOHC XLT automatic 4x4

2000 Ranger 3.0 XLT automatic 4x4

2000 Ranger 3.0 XLT (manual everything, no cruise) manual trans 2wd

Paul‘s 99 Ranger 4.0 OHV XLT automatic 4x4

97/98 Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0 automatic

Tom’s 96 Explorer 4.0 4x4 (its a crazy one, sometimes the part for a 96 is just plain wrong and you need a 95 part)

Possibly a couple others…

I put your data on the spread sheet.

Seems like you you have and extra digit turned on compared to my truck on 726-01-01. Digit 15 on the sheet. I'm betting it's related to the 4X4 since that's the only difference I can see between our trucks.

Do you have electric shift 4x4?

Also, I think if you change 726-01-01 from 5600 to 5200 that should disable the bit for TPMS. I haven't had a chance to confirm this myself, so if it works let me know.

Id also be curious to see what happened if you changed from 5600 to 1600. My best guess is your electric 4x4 shift wouldn't work if you have one. That would be good to know because it would potentially allow someone to do a 2wd to 4x4 swap and utilize the stock computers.

I hooked up my 2000 mustang to forscan the other day and there was only one line I could edit, so I don't know how much you'll find on a lot of these. The older computers have much less support.

I’ll see what I can find anyway, lol. I know I had looked at it but had no idea what the hex decimal stuff related to so I left it alone. Kinda hoping to find some things like the electric shift 4x4 to turn off since I have AWD in my green Ranger now. Maybe address some of the other complaints the truck has from changing stuff.

Same assumption here. Should be able to connect to anything ford with OBDII. It was first developed as a diagnostic tool by Russian ford focus enthusiasts. Then they started adding these types of features later by request.

So the newer platforms obviously have more stuff to access. with the earlier stuff, more options available for the European platforms.

What setting did you change, from what to what?

You have some pictures of the setting?
I changed the 5600 to 5200 at 726-01-01 as you stated above. Oh, and yes, I have electric 4WD.

Did you go through the whole process to write to the GEM?

I’ve tested it on multiple vehicles now so I’m confident it should work.
Not sure about the "whole process". I changed the value and then click Write. When it's done it says to turn the ignition off then on again. That's it. Can you elaborate on the process if there is more to it please? Thanks.
