Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
Sorry, no photos yet. LOL

Dateline Saturday afternoon, Clay, NY.

Went to pull out of the mall parking lot. Wasn't going to fast, just the same speed anyone would use on snow covered access roads..... So the road splits and has one of those grassy curb "V" dividers. Ok, no grass....It's all covered in about 4 feet of snow pack.

So I start to bear to the right to get back on the main drag at the light. And the mall did a lousy job of salting and sanding. Sheer Ice!.... Slowly the trucks inertia just gently plows it into the snowbank. I tried to swerve it back to the center lane (it's on an incline) so I can go straight through...No Dice...No Steering control at all.

Gently right into the snowbank with a huge "Poof" sound, about 4feet in. I'm glad it wasn't hard ice pack, but fluffy somewhat wet snow. The car behind me? Hit the same spot...went sidewise...and put the nose of his car into the snowbank on the right side of the road. No damage at all to either my BII or the gent's car. More just one of those moments.....

I drove there today for work...and the snow impression is still there. Along with a 100% clean to the pavement job on the road in that area.

Just wanted to share that one. No matter how much time you have driving on this crap? ICE doesn't care.... It will make you respect it...or else.

Yeah I had a poorly thought out snow bank issue as well....in my driveway

Yesterday I was tooling along on a back road about 45...the road was ice and snow covered but packed down. Met two trucks...when the second one went by I got over too far because the way the snow had been plowed....and it sucked me in...I just let it go and started steering easy back to the left. Last thing I saw before the snow covered the windshield was a decent sized tree...on the other side of the fence. Thank God that at the last instant it popped back onto the road...and that the nose of the Ranger doesn't stick out much. My tracks are within a foot and half from that tree.

Thanks for reminding me why Alligators on the highway aren't such a bad thing after all........

boy am I glad I did that over the weekend when it was 30 something out and not 0 like today. Also a point...the traction control on this newer stuff is garbage even with it disabled. If I wanted the brakes on I would be using that pedal. Pretty sure I warped the back rotors...again.

Cool to see another RBV fan in CNY! I drive that stretch of Liverpool/Clay 4-5 times a week on my way to NTTS. What a mess that and John Glenn can be... Glad to see you made it out ok =D
