Wheelin Meet This Winter

yeah, that would work.

We could always just meet at 10 in the parking lot, and you and your dad could go up and park, before hand. And then just wait there or something. It probably doesn't take you guys an hour to unload though..

The other thing I was thinking of, is possibly camping, but I think that would be fucking COLD!! But that would pretty much give you a reserved place to park the tow rigs.
I am thinking we (me my cousin and our friend) won't camp due to the cold factor though.

Yoda, I think I am goinf to use the 3M intake cleaner this weekend, to see if it does anything. I think you're right for thinking it's one (or both) of the O2 sensors.

Dang, I meant to post that almost a hour ago, but I forgot to hit reply...

two? it should be just one on the y-pipe of your exhaust... took like 15 mins tops to unscrew, clean and screw back in but alright just makin sure your up for the trip is all

On 93+ there's 2 and the drivers side is a royal bitch.

Hahns, you still up for going? You haven't posted in the thread for a while.

I didn;t think they were too hard to get out. The drivers side, I thought was easier. Maybe the body lift helps alot.

I'll go wheather it runs like crap or not.. It should be running top notch by then though. I can work on it everyday in autoshop if I want. I will probably go untill the end of next week to see if the Seafoam does anything. So far, it doesn't miss at highway speeds anymore, but it stumbles/ misses bad when accelerating, and while cuising at under 40mph. Kinda of a chang in problems...
So middle-end of next week, I will probably clean the O2 sensors, see if that does anything (if the intake cleaner this weekend doesn;t help).

today i was looking at porting and polishing a spare intake i have off my old engine from a 87. has anyone wondered why ford made it so that the air must go in then come back to get into the engine? really slows down the flow i would think. so i'm gonna clean the edges and trim it to fit the gasket at least. i will also be getting another intake plenum as well so they fit each other. once i took the throttle body i found that the fuel regulator port was crusted closed. i chiseled it with a screw driver for like 10 minutes and still can't see light through it... is it supposed to be blocked? obviously not with crud but like mechanically. makes me wonder about the one on my rig... 20 yrs of grime could be blocking somethin there too.

sucks that there is too... just another piece to go wrong. my truck runs fine (now) with just one!

I've read somewhere that porting and polishing can actually hurt the airflow if not done correctly.

What is everybody's input on a meeting time?

Honestly, I'd be up for either (9, or 10), but would almost lean more towards 9, or 9:30. But I also only have to drive 50 miles.

It all depends on the motor on how much, if any porting and polishing should be done. Something my uncle taught me though, is not to polish a carberated intake much, because it cuts down on atomization, shouldn't be as much of a problem on injected though, cause the intake isn't mixing the fuel and air.

As far as start time, I should be out there between 9-930 still, we made alot of progress on my dads rig today, so it's looking good for us.

i just plan on porting it to fit the gasket and the throttle body... letting air flow a little easier anyways.

i say just make it 9-9:30 cuz that is what i was initially planning for anyways.

If i find a job in the next few weeks I will make it because i dont have any insurance yet because I just got my license and my tabes just expired so we will see what happens. :dunno:

Ok, sounds like the meet time will be 9-9:30 then. I'll probably be there at 9.

My dad and brother may go too, but if they go, him and my brother will be riding mototorcycles, so they wouldn't be going with us down the trails.

Sawzall, dang you've been a member for a year and finally post!!
I wish you luck on fidning a job, I know they are hard to get right now.
