Wendys...

With in a 1/2 mile of my house we have...
Taco Bell
Taco Time

Alfy's Pizza
...
You've got a Taco Bell AND a Taco Time?

Showoff...😁

Wendys.... ever since they tried to push the "rate you pay for your food is tied to how busy it is" i have not gone back, and even though they canceled that before implementing...
This is the first I've ever heard of this. So my lunch rush burger would cost more than my after-midnight barcrawl home burger? That's pretty messed up that such a proposal would even be entertained, let alone nearly implemented.

Admittedly, I don't do fast food (or really chain restaurants) much at all but that's still pretty surprising to hear.

that is exactly what their proposal was. it was earlier this year too. and it raised quite a bit of ruckus, so much that Wendy's realized they were about to make a huge mistake and dropped it quickly.

so yeah, eff them.

@sgtsandman since you also didn't hear of this... gotta wonder how much effort Wendy's put out there to erase any mention that they thought about doing this...

a few articles. also funny how the CEO backpeddled on it after the s***storm from them announcing it.

I don't like it when the airlines and hotels do it. I'm sure as heck not going to like it when other retail industries do it. That is part of the reason I mostly drive places and tent camp when I can.

Yes, I know, gas stations do it too. There isn't much you can do about that other than not buy their gas. But you have to be local or a regular visitor of an area to even know that.

The two Wendys locations nearest me have closed in the last couple of months. I went to one after the other had closed a week or two prior and had the best fast food service of my life. I thought to myself that the employees were acting like their jobs were on the line, and it turns out they were. It was closed within a week or two of my visit.

There was a Hardees that closed recently as well and has now been turned into an immediate care center.

Chick Fil A right next door to the Hardees just bought another lot to handle parking and the high traffic volume for their drive through.

I think the cheaper burger based places are losing market share to more premium fast food options like Chic Fil A, Chipotle, Popeye's, Culvers, etc.

^You have an almost botlike resume, sir!

I’m just catching up on this thread. Of course Atlanta has 10 of everything in any direction you want to go, and I ditto most of the comments above.

But nobody mentioned barbecue. We have three or four barbecue chains, one better than the next, but they’re not near as prevalent as the other fast foods.

I don’t eat fast food much, but if I’m out and about, and I see one of the barbecue joints, I can’t keep the four wheels off the lot

Barbeque is not fast food and if it is it's called a McRib.

I would’ve imagined up where you are, it’s made out of soy beans and ketchup or such…

Whatever it is made of is ultra processed garbage. Neither the sauce or the "meat" patty that compose the sandwich tastes good. I don't understand it's popularity.

I tried a McRib once… I haven’t made that mistake again.

The McRibs are hot shite, on the other hand.. the processed & pressed rib sandwiches in the coolers at gas stations are usually pretty heckin good.

Too clear the air... I've had a McRib once or twice back in the 80s. As far as I know barbeque needs to be slow cooked for several hours. Then if you go at odd hours 3 in the afternoon you might get a serving in about 15-20 minutes if the lines aren't long.

The probably have more effort into making something out of nothing than it takes to actually smoke ribs...
