lol 30 minutes .... let me think...
so in the hamlet I am in there is a ma/pa mexican food place (the only food availabe not counting a dog at the cenex)... 30 minutes east adds 3 more ma/pa (2 american + 1 chinese)... 30 minutes west adds 1 "coffee shop"... you got to go an hour to get to "fast food"... the last time I ate fast food, I drove the '07 on one of it's first runs and locked the keys inside so had to sit and wait for 45 minutes (she speeds like she is immune to tickets) while spare set came to me, that was a coney dog at sonic. 30 north/south doesn't add anything at all that I can name... might get to the village limits of one to the south, not sure...

Had 3 somewhat close to me abruptly close. Heard they were closing a bunch of them nationwide.

I hope not.

I hope not too. That's my mom's favorite restaurant. Her idea of going somewhere different is going to a different Wendy's.
I haven't heard anything about them. Maybe it's just the franchisee in your area.
Lotta stores and restaurant chains have been closing though.

I feel cheated seeing several people mentioning the same chain fast food places and I’ve never heard of them… Culvers Is one of them.

There is Chick-Fil-A around, but not super local. Same goes for Hardee’s. We just got a Popeyes but I haven’t been there yet. We also have KFC, Jersey Mikes, Subway, Firehouse Subs, and 5-guys around.

I mentioned on a Steelers board yesterday that we don’t have a Waffle House in Pittsburgh and people were horrified.
I love me some Waffle House but I only get it when I’m on vacation.

Never heard of a Huddle House. Waffle House, we have to go South or West. The closest thing we have here is Ihop and the few Perkins Pancake restaurants that are still around.

It's like Waffle House with a much larger menu. I miss it.

We have IHOP and Perkins here too but I most often hit up a couple local mom and pop breakfast joints instead.

I had a Huddle House 5 minutes from me that also closed very early in the pandemic, like they were looking for an excuse to close it. Now they're renovating it into a RISE dispensary. We just lost our Denny's a few months ago too, it was struggling, and was closed half the times I tried going, and they just reopened after a small fire a year ago.

Wendys.... ever since they tried to push the "rate you pay for your food is tied to how busy it is" i have not gone back, and even though they canceled that before implementing it told me all I need to know about that company. Don't care if they close.

I live in a large one horse town so we have many many fast food places within 5 and 10 miles.

We have only one wendys in town though and its right by the mall. Thats probably why its still here. The wife and i stop every once in a while and i am reminded why we stop so infrequently so we dont go again for a few months.

My favorite is wataburger. Its like a nice hardees. They wrre really awesome when they were still owned by the family here in town but they sold out two or three years back to some ny company and now they are popping up in other states and are getting generic.


We also have bill millers bbq which only exists from san antonio, or maybe san marcos down to kingsville texas. About 150 worth of towns, which is not many in south texas.

I could eat there every day though. Good chicken, good salads, and great sweet tea. We had to bring 4 gallons to my son in omaha when we visited for thanksgiving because no where in omaha has good texas sweet tea. They had only some crappy gun tea and tea from the soda machine every place we ate. Some places had brewed, but it was unsweet and you add your own pick stuff.

Someone built a chicfila about 1.5 miles from me so thats nice. They are usually so crowded i dont go there. Mcdonalds is half a mile, taco bell is next door to it, wataburger us before them and burger king is across the street from wataburger
(When i was in high school, the current wataburger was burger king. Burger king disappeared for about 12 years snd magically came back and built a new building where it sits now).


We do have about 6 mexican places i can walk to. All dine in types of places that are family owned. Good food, too. And a black diamond burger place that makes awesome burgers but they are about 5 bucks more than wataburger and burger king
