2.3L ('83-'97) Turboing a ‘90 2.3 ranger

I have a 2.3 90 ranger with 70,000 original miles that I want to turbo I have a new exhaust and short shifter. Anyway I’m looking to see if there’s any kits online, I couldn’t find one but I’m not quite sure what name of motor is or if there’s a way to find some from a yard. Any help or suggestions are welcome

You aren;t going to find a kit for a ranger, unless you are taking it off an existing turbo 2.3L Ranger. No one currently makes a kit, and not sure that they ever did. Most that have done it started with a 2.3T Mustang ot T-bird and modified parts to suit.

If you do some reading there's been a bunch of threads started about going the DIY route with good information in each of them. There are also a few people around with completed swaps that have documented what they did pretty well.

What ever route you take there will be custom work to plumb everything and tie it into the exhaust.

Yeah, what Josh said... I've posted about my swap a bunch in the last month for the rash of people asking similar questions that hasn't happened much in the last few years... I'm not in the mood to type it all out again right this moment

The stock pistons won't handle much more than like 5psi, stock injectors are about maxxed out stock, you can redneck some things with a step bigger injectors, a ebay turbo header (look for Lima or ford 2.3L stuff) and just hope it lives or get fancier with an aftermarket ECM, aftermarket injectors and get yourself a little safer, turbo pistons are harder to come by... I started with Thunderbird Turbocoupe stuff...
