Turbo truggy

That's going to be nice having the trans up so high! That cerekote looks killer as well! You are making me want to tear my rig apart and make it look nice lol

The biggest problem is going to be hood clearance I think. Time will tell. I've cut most of the floorboard out now and will build a new one once suspension, drivelines, and exhaust is in.

I had a little free time today so I built the passenger side motor mount. I modified the engine bracket to save some time. I need the mount higher than stock so the suspension link doesn’t hit it.

That motor mount is nice, great fab work!

Thanks. Progress has been slow the last few months so this is probably the most boring project on this forum. Things will speed up once I can start on the suspension.

Never thought to look for this project over here too! Lookin good as usual.

Pretty much the same stuff. I guess I’m an attention whore. I almost went with a split port 3.8 and M5R2 instead of the 2.3t.

Who's the bigger whore? I have like 7 projects on tf and like 3 here lol

I was wrong. I did have to modify the drivers side bracket

But at least the motor mounts are finished

Made a little more progress today. I built a temporary transmission crossmember. I won’t build the permanent one until the suspension is finished beacause the frame brackets will get tied into the suspension mounts and will have the mounting points for the skid plate built in.

I slid the front axle housing under so I could start daydreaming about where all is the links will be located.

Fitting a double triangulate 4 link up front isn’t easy, but it looks like it’s going to work with this frame. It’ll be nice to not have a panhard.

I started tying the front sect of the rock sliders into the body

It’ll be a while before I weld the exo cage together, but I wanted to see what it will look like

Once I get the driver side finished, I can start building my core support.

Love how you did the A pillar

Thanks it’s not something you can get away with if your frame, body, and cage aren’t all integrated, but it really stiffens up that area. I’ve noticed rigs hit thst spot on rocks and trees a lot. It will gat tied to the dash bar once it’s in.

Got a few more tubes cut and tacked in place tonight. I only had a couple hours after I dropped my kid off. Progress is progress.

Then I slapped the doubler and transfer case on the back of the transmission. I had to shim the temporary crossmember up about an inch to get the drivetrain where I wanted it. The transfer case should make a nice arm rest.

It looks like I’m going to have to move the front axle forward about 3 inches from where I had it sitting so I don’t destroy my oil pan. This creates two problems. It might put my tires into my turn signals. I can always put LEDs in the bumper, but the original plan was to keep the front end looking like a ranger. The second problem if the length of the driveshaft. I need to do some research on this. I might have to go to a two-piece driveshaft.

So... anyone here run a / piece driveshaft?

Got a little more tubework done. I’ve had the fenders and grill on and off a lot to make sure things fit right still.

I’m still not 100% sure how far I’m going to move my axle forward. I played around with ride height and wheelbase a lot last night. I’d like to keep the factory headlights, but I’d also like to have a low center of gravity and not kiss my crank pulley with my steering ram at full compression.
