You see, I have this problem where I can’t leave anything alone. Think of Tim “the toolman” Taylor on Home Improvement with a better success rate, lol.

I look up to people like @bobbywalter with all the things they do to their rigs. It’s an inspiration. Once I get myself a garage with a lift, it’s really gonna be game on.



quite a few modifications.....especially transmission upgrades were done on the side of the road...or in the trails...

Bumper progress on the green Ranger. All 1/8” steel. Lots more to come on this design, I need to tack it together and test fit so I can figure out the rest of the pieces needed.

More bumper progress. It’s getting heavier. Gotta figure out what I want for bracing, make the pockets for the fog lights, bend up the tube and finish weld yet, then I can paint and install. Pretty happy with how it’s shaping up. I’m going to build a front hitch that fits through the window in it between the factory tow hooks at some future point. I was originally going to try to build it into the bumper, but I was doing some head scratching on how exactly I wanted to do it and realized I could save myself time on getting the truck back on the road and brain cells by just building a separate hitch which ideally would also work with a factory bumper.

I’m not excited about the idea of pulling the motor to fix it. If it was a normal Ranger engine, maybe, but the 5.0? No, doing this by myself outside at this time of the year I’m inclined to try and work around it. I have an idea for repairing it that may simply the process and limit how much welding I have to do under the truck. It will get plated with 1/8” no matter how I end up fixing it though. Gonna happen soon, I need a solid truck.
