Turbo truggy

Damn dude that's a nice frame. Those compound miter cuts look great! This truck is going to be sweet.

I think we all end up building more than we intend; my most recent truck is an example. When you enjoy doing something, it's difficult to not try to make it the best you can. :icon_welder:

I be following.
What can you tell me about your fab table? That looks to be a skookum piece. I'd love to have something like that.

All I know is that it was the table for a very large mill. I got a really good deal on it. The dude had a bigger one but wouldn't part with it.

Started trimming the cab

Cut the pinch seam off the bottom of the door and tacked the two pieces together for more clearance

Got the slider tacked in place. I will tie this into the frame rail in multiple spots and build a tube bash guard. Then I'll replicate the other side.

Definitely an interesting project

I know I'd be better off throwing a 5.0 in it, but I have a lot of 2.3 turbo stuff collecting dust. I'm interested to see how it does. I have a couple 5.0's so I can always swap it later on.

I have a 2.3 turbo sitting in my garage too haha. Thinking of sas my 2wd ranger.
Like I can buy a 82 jeep cherokee frame and swap the body or swap the drive train on the ranger. Don't know yer

I just figured that since I had come this far, I might as well build a frame that won't make me compromise my suspension. I can fit a double triangulated 4 link in the front now.

I'm a single dad, so I only get every other weekend to work on my projects. I did manage to get the final porting on my head complete the other night. I'm happy with how it turned out. It's the second head I've ported, and I tip my hat to good head porters. I suck at it.

I was originally going to use a turbo block, but changed my mind halfway through the engine build. I'd rather not run a distributor, so using a block without an auxiliary shaft makes the most sense. I'll be setting the microsquirt with the crank trigger to run LS coils.

I've also decided to run an M5R2 instead of an R1. My doubler will fit the R2 without the NWF 5 to 6 bolt adapter. I'll use an adapter at the bellhousing and run an 11" clutch.

Now to find a 164 tooth flywheel. Anyone have an idea where I can find one of those?

A machine shop could re-drill one to a 2.3 bolt pattern, or you could have reactor performance make a custom one for you. I don't know of any that can just be purchased. :dunno:

This is the Northwest Fab blackbox-i and Dana 20 with upgraded output shaft that I plan to use. I have quite a bit of money invested in this setup so I want to use it. Unfortunately, they don't make a 25 spline input for it and it's made for a six bolt adapter. This is why I'll probably it an M5R2 in.

Damn. If I had a setup that good looking it'd be mounted on the wall above the mantle. :icon_thumby:

I guess I could put some plexi-glass over the trans tunnel
