The 2019 'Loan Ranger', and 2019 Ranger Adventure

Hmmm..... good question

It's gotta be an alignment cam.

They sure are running things tight... Probably the best way to run that new rubber will be with a little less backspace.

Rough Country lists this tire as a size that will fit. Hopefully they're right.

I was going to put the lift on yesterday (Thursday), but I decided to wait until Monday. Step #4 of the post installation instructions state "Have a qualified alignment center align the vehicle immediately. Realign to specifications on the next page."

I'm headed down to the Texas hill country on Saturday, and was concerned about alignment issues. I wonder if an alignment shop even knows how to align this truck?

Chances are your local tire/alignment shop hasn't even seen a 2019 Ranger yet. I would think any alignment issues on these trucks have ended up at the dealer under warranty.

Texas Hill Country Adventure - Day 1

I had planned to install the Rough Country leveling kit last Thursday, but I had reservations Saturday night in the Texas hill country, and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to use the truck until it was aligned. This will be the last adventure in the 2019 Ford Ranger before it starts it's modifications......

My GF and I left the Dallas / Fort Worth area Saturday morning (04/13/19) in scattered rain storms. The rain brings out the inability of people to drive, and I counted at least (8) wrecks before we were finally out of the area. Our route took us down IS35W to IS20, and then west to SR16. Just west of the SR16 exit is Ranger Texas, and I just had to go. My hope was that I could find some signs that had 'Ranger' on them.

I discovered Ranger Donuts, but they were unfortunately closed. I thought it would be pretty cool to do donuts in a Ranger in front of Ranger Donuts. It would be pointless to do it and not record it to share with others though, and it probably wouldn't take very long before Ford demanded their truck back. My better judgement won.

After a few photos, we were on our way. I little further up the road I discovered Ranger Community College. Again, I just had to stop and get a photo with 'You're in... Ranger Country'.

From there it was a long drive south through the Texas countryside to Ingram Texas. We had found a place to stay on Airbnb for the night.

Radio / Navigation Screen Froze:

During the trip on Saturday, the display screen for the radio / navigation / climate controls froze. The radio continued to play, but the display screen was completely frozen. I couldn't even turn the radio off by pushing the power button. This has apparently happened on the Ford Fusion as well.

If this happen to you, hold down the power button and the fast forward button at the same time for 15-seconds.

Looks like space is limited. But wouldn't it be cool to have a dozen Rangers doing donuts in front of Ranger Donuts?

I like the bars on the windows of the establishment that sells "lick tubs". Texas sure looks like a fun place :stop:

Texas Hill Country Adventure - Day 2 (Part 1)

On Sunday we headed out and stopped at Stonehenge II in Ingram Texas. It's a replica of the original Stonehenge in England that's 90% as wide as the original, but only 60% as tall.

There was also a Moai head there. Remember 'Night At The Musuem'?

After that we stopped at a park, before heading south on SR16 to do a scenic loop. The loop went west on RM337 from Medina to Vanderpool, and then south on RM187 to RM470. RM470 took us back east to SR16.

I took some video with my Samsung S8, but it came out very pixelated. This phone takes great photos, and should take great videos, but I can't figure out what the problem is.

We follow SR16 all the way back north, and stopped at 'Hondos On Main' in Fredericksburg for lunch.

Texas Hill Country Adventure - Day 2 (Part 2)

After lunch we headed north and took the Willow City Loop. This is my favorite drive in this part of the Texas hill country. Especially this time of year. Very colorful with all of the wild flowers and Texas Bluebonnets.

I like this next photo. I didn't highlight the area around FX4, that's just the way the sun was hitting it.

We got back a little after 10:00 pm Sunday night.

I really need to put the leveling kit on this week, and get the Coopers mounted. According to Ford, my Yakima tent (RTT) should be here by the end of the week!!

Also need to get the truck ready to go to Overland Expo in May. It's coming up quick.

Hmmm, your Texas doesn't look at all like the "movies" Texas. might be worth checking out in person some day.

Any where I've been in Texas was never that green, with perhaps the exception of when I was very little and we live in Beaumont. But Texas is a massive State and I've only seen a little of it. I hear there are parts that aren't desert.

Texas is an amazing state. Head east towards the Louisiana border, and there's tall pines and woodlands. Head to the 'Hill Country', and you'll find hills big enough to be small mountains. The northern sections are like the great plains. The western sections are like deserts, but it gets pretty mountainous around Fort Davis.

The second largest canyon (Palo Duro) is in Texas.

As well as Big Bend National Park...

Sabine National Forest...

There's more big lakes here than I expected. If you live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, you could easily find a different place to go every night for a month. Tons of restaurants and live music. I seriously think that you could find anything you wanted to do here in Texas, as long as it doesn't involve snow.

Texas also has the Gulf of Mexico, the USS Lexington that you can tour, and even the Museum Of The Battle Of The Pacific since Admiral Nimitz was from Texas.

Oh ya, can't forget Space Center Houston...

Does it do any better not going thru a windshield?

I have had that problem with my gopro. A bright windshield with the reflection of the dash will mess up the camera so it doesn't really know where to focus.

Lady Lex is neat, don't forget about Texas too. I would love to see her someday.
