Metal Mulisha decal came in!

100_3790.jpg

It was also 50* today which gave me the ambition to paint over the black paint the P.O. put on my truck. I found some Duplicolor paint in my color at the dollar store (that place amazes me!) and it matches my color perfectly. It looks funny now because I only cleaned off where I am going to be painting because my hose spout is still covered by a 3' snowbank.

I also threw some black paint on the wiper arms, because they were flaking off any exposing the bare metal.

I know the red paint wont last long because of the obvious rust holes and bubbles, but it looks a hell of alot better than the black paint bubbles!

Looks Like you enjoy decals as much as I do. I just ordered these off amazon.com.

Set of (2) for 3.99 no shipping.

I had a version of the objects in mirror one in my Zx2.

If I put that on my Ranger it would have to say "Objects in mirror are about to pass you."

This trucks a slugggg. Gotta fix some things. Need new gears and gotta fix the kickdown cable.

Hopefully a nice 2WD/Auto/4.0 parts truck will fall in my lap and I can do a heart transplant as well. I'd go 5.0 but I think I'll settle for the V6 for now. Too much work to do a 5.0 swap IMO.

While I was changing a rear brake line I noticed this.. where is it supposed to go? I know it's not supposed to be hanging down like that..

I also got sick of knocking my head on the spare tire carrier and I can't use it anyway, so I unbolted it. One side came off easy but I didn't wanna mess with the two bolts on the other side so I hacksawed it. Useless.

Ordered a hitch tonight, it's a basic Reese Class III hitch, nothing special. I almost threw in an extra 40 bucks and bought the class III/IV but I really wouldn't need it. The most I'll ever tow is a small utility trailer with some camping gear, lawn mower, or furniture on it. I can practically pick up my riding tractor its so small/light.

Now I just need to get a draw bar, hitch lock, and a plug for trailer lights. I also need to drop by the local bolt shop to pick up some grade 8 hardware, assuming the hitch doesn't come with it.

Anyone know around how much a registration is for a small (lets say 4x7) utility trailer in NY?

Found a parts truck. I was at Ace Hardware picking up some blaster for my trip to the JY when a guy saw me in the parking lot and asked if I would be interested in any ranger parts from a truck he was scrapping. Just testing him out on a few parts I realized he wasn't looking to get much out of it so I asked what he wanted for the whole truck and he told me $250 would be fine.

I'm going to look at it at noon tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have it in my yard by tomorrow night or the saturday. I know a guy with a trailer, just have to work out a price to haul it roughly 20 miles in hill country.

The specs.
1993 Ford Ranger Supercab. 4.0 paired with an auto. And.. it's 4x4.

He said the mileage isn't that bad but he can't remember what it is. It was rolled roughly 3 years ago and had some bad side damage from the drivers door to the bed. The woman who owned it drove it until a month ago when it died on her. I'm buying it for the rear end, tailgate, and some misc parts. I wanted the radiator but he's keeping that along with several front end parts for his Ranger. The rest I'll either keep on hand or I'll try to get it running and use it as a field truck. I may even scrap it myself, because I can make more than the 250 I am paying for it with some junk I have laying around.

The main bad thing is it wont start, he said it turns over but it doesn't "catch" and fire. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the timing chain, but I really don't know.

If I get it running within a week (doubtful) I will consider swapping parts onto it from my truck instead, depending on the mileage. I have to look it over good first.

Tailgate has a huge dent in it but I'll bondo it out.

So far my list of parts I'm going to pull is as follows.

Passengers door.
Passengers fenders.
Fender flares.
Tailgate.
Drivers dash and cluster.
Misc interior parts.
Rear end.
Leaf Springs.
Cross Members.
Gas tank and straps.
Gas tank skid plate.
Rear bumper (have to look it over again, can't remember how it looked)
Hood.
Misc engine parts.
Bed Liner.
Cross Members.

He wants the wheels, so I have to find some rollers for it.

I'm going to attempt to get it running and if that fails then I will be forced to part and scrap it. It's LOADED with scrap metal. He was going to take it in today and I called just in time. Pics of it this weeked.

If anyone needs some 2nd/early 3rd gen RED interior parts let me know.

The truck isn't exactly my color btw, it's red/gray two tone. Close though, I'll just paint the lower gray part of the pieces I take.

I'm also going to tape some cardboard up on the windows. The drivers xcab window and the rear window is smashed.

.

How deep is the dent? Lots o bondo over a big dent is asking for trouble..I think the general rule of thumb is no more than 3/16 of an inch deep for bondo.

I think you might want to try popping it out another way..Depending on how it is, you will have a few different options out there to get that out.

Post up what it looks like..Im sure I (or anyone else!) can help you get that out the best possible way.

It's more of a bad scrape. I'm going to attempt to tap it out with a hammer prior to doing anything with bondo.

I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'm going to break even or lose money when I scrap it, it's going to cost me more than I origionally thought to get it home. The guy who was going to haul it for me isn't around. It would cost me roughly 170 bucks if I rented equipment from Uhaul, or 200 if I go the wrecker route. I had origionally planned to make a little..

there should be a little clip to hold the vent tube right inside of the driverside frame rail above the axle

I wedged it between some wire loom and the frame rail. Couldn't find a clip, so I'm assuming the whole thing fell off.
