No screw holes in the rims to mount the top one. Otherwise I would use the ones that are on my parts truck.

Got the parts truck home today. We drove out there and the trailer blew a tire. Had to take two from the Ranger (a spare and one off the front) and mount them on it. Good thing it uses Explorer rims.

Guy in the picture is my tow guy. I gave him $100 for the tow, since it took 4 hours and most of it was spent wrenching on my Ranger and his Trailer.

That's the good side of the truck BTW. Bad photo because I took it with my cell. I'll get better ones tomorrow.

No chance of getting it running btw. Engines only half there..

doesent look bad man. good thing its the same color as your truck LOL

Main reason why I bought it. It's two tone though, bottom is gray but I have some duplicolor I got cheap laying around.

Slightly better photos.

Some are with scrap, I took it out tonight to start working on it.

This is the tailgate damage I was describing.

Some tools I scored in the deal.

100_3823.jpg

The 15" Crescent wrench (40) was in the bed with the scrap, the Napa 3/8 drive 10" breaker bar was a replacement I got today for a Sparta one that was broken and in the cab scrap, and the little wrench is a Craftsman 5/16-11/32 6pt that I found in the cab.

If anyone's wandering around (or works at) NAPA think you could get me a price on that breaker? I forgot to check, I'm trying to keep a running total to see if I lost money, made money, or broke even. Couldn't find a price on the craftsman wrench but an 11 piece set costs 60 bucks so lets say 5 dollars. And that price was for a 12pt, this is 6.

I paid 250 for the truck, 10 bucks for a bugshield (HELL YEAH!) and I gave my dads buddy with the trailer 100 bucks for towing it for me. That means I'm -360.

Right now I'm about -300, considering the tools I found to be worth AROUND that much.

Oh and believe it or not, there's about 4 BBQ's, an entire Polaris snowmobile, a dirt bike, what looks like the front ends from 3 ATV's, and 3-4 bicycles buried in there. I figure it out to about 2klbs in scrap metal, besides the truck.

I'd say you made out good, 360 for a bunch of parts is damn near perfect. Like the progress keep up the good work!

Ordered a hitch tonight, it's a basic Reese Class III hitch, nothing special. I almost threw in an extra 40 bucks and bought the class III/IV but I really wouldn't need it. The most I'll ever tow is a small utility trailer with some camping gear, lawn mower, or furniture on it. I can practically pick up my riding tractor its so small/light.

Now I just need to get a draw bar, hitch lock, and a plug for trailer lights. I also need to drop by the local bolt shop to pick up some grade 8 hardware, assuming the hitch doesn't come with it.

Anyone know around how much a registration is for a small (lets say 4x7) utility trailer in NY?
I'm going to register my ranger based trailer today, I'll let you know what it cost me.

Do I sense a 4x4 swap in the near future?:icon_idea:

Depends on everything that's needed.

And if I ever get around to doing an engine swap, since you need to pull the engine to do a 4x4 swap. I might shelf the parts until I do.

Anyone have a list of what parts I'll need? I'll be taking the electric 4x4 parts off this if I do take the 4x4 out, but I'll be putting a manual t case in so I (hypothetically) wont need them.

The tranny from a 4x4, engine crossmember/ttb brackets, t-case (obviously), front axle/driveshaft, and a rear axle with a matching gear ratio. :icon_thumby:
