PlumCrazy's Build

Looks really good. You will like the ride better with the softer springs, depending on what shocks your getting. And the bump stops look familiar.

I test drove it with my old short Rancho shocks and it wasnt too bad. The Tuff Country shocks I ordered are even stiffer, so it should ride like a dream.

I didn't see a patent on those bumps.lol. having bolt ons will make installing those isolators so easy.lol. I decided to go with stock XJ ones to keep my lift to a minimum.

That's ok on the bumps cause I stole it from someone else.

I pretty much finished up everything over the weekend

Coil insulators are in, turns out they slip over a 2" od tube, so the ones I made out of 2.25" were too big. So I made new ones.

I also finished up my shock mounts and threw on the new shocks.

I swapped out the 7* wedge bushings for some 2* to fix my caster and pinion angle.

Trimmed the engine cross member a bit more to clear the trackbar.

Took out the stock 2.5" rear blocks and swapped them for some 3/4" blocks I made.

Final ride height is about 3" lower up front and 1.75" lower in the rear.

All I have to do now is clearance the traction bar crossmember to keep it from destroying my rear driveshaft.

Next on the list is have my extra pass side front axle shaft shortened to EB width and throw the whole set of larger joint shafts in, so i can put that mini spool in.

After that I want to get my York OBA going and start stripping and repainting my bumpers and stuff.

But that will be a few weeks.lol. I went on a parts buying spree and now I have to go on bill paying spree.lol

The coil isolators I have are 2.25" id. I must have ones for a different jeep or something.

I got mine through Rustys. Said they fit XJ, Comanche, Waggy, and more. They are stock rubber with a steal core of some sort. No biggy. The only 2" tube I had on hand was a bit thinner walled, so I will buy different bushings that fit the 2.25" if I ever break one of these. Im not too worried about it. Thats what I get for trying to build things without having all my parts on hand.lol

I hate bill paying sprees...after my steering upgrade I'm done till next year. Put tooooo much on my emergency only credit card.

I don't have any credit cards.lol. I would be in deep shit way too quick.lol

But my rent, utilitys, insurance, and phone are all due the same week.lol

Im will probably take insurance off of my 2wd when snow starts to fly. It will save me almost 200 bucks a month and 2wd open diff wont even get out of my driveway if it snows a 1/4" inch.lol. Besides it will be the perfect time to do my 5 speed swap since I won't be able to drive it anyway.

Extra 200 a month will most likey end up being a winch or new rubber for the blue truck.lol

You don't have a winch? Thought you did?

I was kinda was hoping for it to be a hair lower than it ended up.

Looks great. I think the height is perfect.

I think we sit at about the same height now.
