PlumCrazy's 88 SuperCab 2.3T Build

I'd double check the pimpx can run the low impedance injectors. Most of the MS lineup won't run them without additional resistors (and even then it's not optimal). It's possible Stinger added that functionality however. My PimpXShift did NOT have that capability.

As far as tuning goes, you are much better off biting the injector bullet at the beginning.
PimpX can run low impedance, but X and XShift cannnot.

made the real thing with 1/4" hard line
Careful with store bought steel brake line. The last time I bent up a turbo oil supply line it split at the seam after a few months. Stuff used to be better quality. I use an line now...

have issues with AN line too. be weary.

i have had good luck with the evil energy stuff and earls though.

Put the 4 injectors that I was planning to use on the tester....only one functioned.

Put them all in the ultrasonic for a while and pulled 4 more from the other turbo motor...none of them functioned either lol.

Let all 8 bathe for a bit and tested some other randoms I had (36lbers from a few SC 3800 GM applications) and they all worked first try.

Fast forward an hour or so after cleaning and cycling power to the brown tops and they all came around after purging the varnish.

All seem to be pretty even after a few rounds of testing at various speeds and pressures.

I'll give these a go for a bit, but will likely switch to the high impedance GM injectors I have left over from my 4.0 build down the road.

Did little design work on my lunch break.

Printed up a first revision of a dual gauge mount.

First time playing with the "fuzzy" surface to hide some of the layer lines. Looks 10x better in person.

After a test fit I made few tweaks and started another print to check out tomorrow morning.

This truck has no AC so the vents are basically useless, decided to give one vent up for the wideband and boost gauges. Originally was going ditch the radio and make a gauge panel there, but my buddy told me it would be boring cruising through town with turbo noises and no tunes.

that is kelwzez

Mocked up the gauges last night, still need to trim a little off the back of the vent to clear the boost gauge when it's slid back.

Over all pretty happy with the look. I'll try to print with ABS for the final product since I'm sure this will warp onna hot day in the future.

Been in the teens during the day and windchill into the negatives for the last week or so. Planning to bring the harness inside and start tracing down what wires I can remove/repurpose, then rewrap it.

Not much progress has been made around here besides trying a new hack for plowing gravel driveways.

Added 2" PVC around the cutting edge of my little plow and and works amazing! Factory just has adjustable shoes at the edges and they sink in and still end up pushing have the gravel into the yard. I recommend electrical conduit as the first try with the white PVC shattered after 30 minutes or so.

Planning to snag another snowblower setup for this tractor too. My current setup runs off of the front PTO, which melted down while not in use this summer....I removed so I could continue mowing, but never got around to ordering a new bearing or finding a replacement spring. The setup I am getting will run off of the Mid PTO and hopefully not throw belts constantly like the Front setup did when it "worked" lol

Edit:
Got the new setup ripping just in time to eat up all the drifts. Works well as long as you can give it a mouthful

Of course it took minor modifications and a parts tractor to get it going at midnight...but it was worth it.

i have had good luck with the evil energy stuff and earls though.

I've been using both evil energy and hotrodfuelhose ptfe hose and have not had problems with any of it.

I have it on my remote oil filter, my turbo drain, transmission cooler hoses and all my fuel lines.

I had 2 problems - one 90* fitting leaking at the swivel, HRFH sent replacement for free, and one leaking oil filter hose - had some of the steel braiding caught in the ferrule weird. Cleaned up and put a new ferrule on, fixed.

I did use a prefabbed -4 oil feed for the turbo though. -3/-4 ptfe wasn't available at the time.

Not a ton going on with how freaking cold its been, but I did get all the jumpers installed in the ECU for 4cyl, low impedance, batch fire, w/ boost controller. Running though the pinouts I will only need to repurpose/ move a wire from the PS pressure switch to become my boost control solenoid and I can reroute the original O2 sensor extension harness I made for the long tube header up to the wideband controller.

Swapped out the Ranger injectors for the brown tops I cleaned up

Figured out he routing for the MAP/Boost gauge. Still need a different T and some more tube to clean up the look a little.

If it warms up enough to cure sealant on the exhaust manifold....I may have it running this weekend. I wont be able to test drive it until I get the rear axle swapped now that I started down the path with he 1310 drive shaft installed.

The seal/oring on the drain plugs of these chinesium radiators are pretty terrible. They extrude out if you tighten them too much and crumble after a few dozen heat cycles. Swapped the oring out for a metal w/ bonded rubber seal style washer.

I also got new toy/tool:

Way more convenient than mooching off of the old ones at work. Already reprinted my gauge bezel in ASA so hopefully it holds up in the summer heat.

Pupper says its too cold to go outside so he holds my bibs hostage.
