NO Anti theft light coming on help

I have searched and searched and cannot find anyone that has had this problem. here is what i have. i bought an 2004 Ford Ranger that had a bad motor(timing chain bad). when i got it the motor was half apart. i have since bought a motor off the local junk yard. after installing the motor i go to start it and nothing happens at all. i have read on the anti theft light is supposed to flash but mine the light does not come on. i have grounded the starter relay located in the engine compartment in order to get it to crank with the key. i have checked the fuel pressure and also have spark. the motor will start with the relay grounded and spraying carb cleaner in the intake tube. the bulb in the cluster is good i switched it with a know good one. I am out of ideas with this truck. any help will be great Thanks

Check power and ground to the PCM. Also check for odometer operation, if it is digital.

i have power. The mileage does come on when I turn key.

What about the check engine light?

yes the check engine light comes on when i turn the key on

adsm08, I doubled check the power to the pcm. what I did was unplugged the pcm plug and tested for power there. I checked the ports that are labeled power grd. I have no power going to those ports. the ports I tested and thought I had the power there was the pcm relay power ports which I have power to those two ports. I have power to the pcm relay in the battery fuse block on the 30 and 85 ports with key on. I am hoping you are able to help me troubleshoot this. thanks in advance. I did try to switch relays out with no luck
