My new daily driver- 93 Ford Explorer Sport

I had a friend of mine who had an Explor similar to yours. He had a blue '92 with same wheels and the the 4.0/5-speed combo and LOVED it.
It's a sharp looking looking Explorer. 113,00 miles on the odo? Not bad for a '93. How's the clutch?
If you were to repaint it, how about a green & tan two-tone, like on some of the Eddie Bauers?
If those are 15" alloys, I'd take 'em for my truck.
I wouldn't go for the tinted windows, but the stereo upgrade sounds good.

Yea i have all 4 15 inch alloys. And I kept the 14 inch deerhoof print alloys from my 97 ranger, so i threw those on the front now, so i have 225/70R14's on the front and 235/70R15s on the back now. Yea the clutch feels fine in it, so wierd noises or grinding, and I think your right, i might not tint the windows, and go for the better sound system. Right now I have my dads Eclipse head unit and pioneer 5x7's in the door, and pioneer 6x9's in custom enclosures on the back seat, sounds decent, but i need a decent sub and amp. I also bought an maf adapter and a Spectre cone filter, but i left the bottom part of the stock intake in so im still getting cold air into the intake, it makes a nice growling sound now to :) The peppyness of the 4.0 5-speed continues to surprise me, I watch the speedo climb and I love it, compared to my 97 2.3 i had, this is great! I actually have passing power in 4th gear now lol. So I have a question; What would be a good sounding muffler on a 4.0? I have a glasspack, a cherry bomb Extreme single in dual out, and a cherry bomb turbo muffler at home, just wondering which one would sound the best? (I cant afford a Flowmaster so please dont say it)

just my opinion..i would leave the stock exhaust :) its nice to hear a roaring exhaust, but its nicier to cruise with just a low hum.

yea i might not touch it for awhile, i like just hearing the intake growl when i put my foot down :) Definately got some romp to its stomp lol

Well.....I hit the gas instead of the brake parking in a parking lot andddd....bent up my left front fender an bumper pretty good :( I bent the bumper back out so its not hitting the tire now. I can live with the bent up bumper, but the fender looks like hell now, soo I'll be going to the junkyard friday to get another fender, hopefully the same color...if not oh well, at least I can still drive it and nothing else was damaged. I'll get pics of the carnage tomorrow most likely...I'm bummed now :/

ohh no!!!!! lucky no one got hurt, and even more lucky the sploder didnt get that hurt

Yea the left fender is beyond just "bending back out" and the bumper is bent up, but not unbearable so. I picked up another fender at the local junkyard, I'll be throwing it on tomorrow
here's the carnage

other than the fender/bumper mishap..I did change out the muffler to a 2.5 in 2.5 out cherry bomb, sounds beastly, but not stupid loud now. Also I put in my pioneer 6x9's in the back and I'm using my dad's head unit out of his wrecked turbocoupe until christmas. And I put in my Cobra CB also

pre runner style

Well, today I took off the bent up fender, and actually bent it back into shape, its not perfect but its a helluva lot better than it was, its mostly straight, except for a little dent in the bottom. Now what to do about the bumper...most likely get another eventually, after christmas most likely

Well here's an update: I installed 2 10 inch spx subs and an 800 watt spx amp, And I bought a brand new JVC-KD PKR400 head unit, that came with new 6.5 speakers for the doors. I LOVE my new setup, I can enjoy all the highs in songs and have mirror rattling bass when I want it. Its a nice change from the eclipse head unit and roadmaster speakers I had lol. Also got a tomtom gps for Christmas for the long trips. Ok now here's the bad update: after the explorer warms up, if I push the accelerator 1/2-WOT, it starts to load up, it still will accelerate, but just sputters as it's doing so...So I'm thinking new o2 sensors are in order soon...
(Pic's coming soon of the new system)
