kill switch mandate in future vehicles article

On star and the like has had remote kill for a lot time.

Beat me to it. I'm inclined to think if it has any kind of entertainment center display in it, even the basic one like in my 2019, they already have the ability to kill your vehicle. Not just the On Star and similarly equipped vehicles

Even if they don't many are capable of over the air updates...

It will probably just be me and you....

It is amazing how much shit just keeps oozing out of the "infrastructure" bill law. Kill switches in your car, government watching your bank account.

This infuriates me. The Democrat/liberal form of freedom is a communist police state and it's just shocking to me that any American would stand behind this kind of stuff...but here we are.

Bet your ass the first time the kill switch gets used on certain populations it'll be racist and my fault.

Do you think this is anything new????? Every single bill has 1000 pages of “extra” non-related stuff attached too it. It’s F’in ridiculous!! We should have been outraged everytime a new bill passed in the past 100 years. There hasn’t been one that actually focused on fixing a problem and ONLY fixing a problem.

This last one has some pretty bold moves.

Agreed 100% on the extra fluff in general though.

Dude.

The big issue is redefining terms.

I am a liberal. Jeffersonian liberal.

Liberty.

That is important.

Boiled down to key singularity...

Individual liberty is the key single fundamental founding principal of America.

Somebody wanted to change that.

If you want to change something fundamentally....you dislike or hate what it is.

These POS fawks are leftist.

That is Marxist, socialist, commies POS moth fockles.

Direct result of "higher education".

We are a constitutional Republic...not a pure democracy.

One of those inflates tyranny.

Higher education abandoned critical thinking for a reason.

So people are literally just tax CATTLE sheep. Look around.

Would we need anyone else? Somethin tells me we could get rowdy enough to make the suits think twice

Lojack has been around for a longtime, and as said the OnStar system can shut off a vehicle remotely and its been around even longer
So not a new thing
But I liked the idea it was "an option" not a requirement

Any system can be hacked.............................which then presents a whole other issue

Not too worried about the Government, which is why I don't believe in any of the conspiracy theories that involve "smart" Government officials being involved, "smart" is not a job requirement, not making a joke, "smart" in that way is just not who gets elected

Hacking a system is what scares me, only need ONE "smart" guy for that
But if the system doesn't exist then it can't be hacked

Perplexed. Deep state is exactly that.

Vehicles been mandated killable since 85.

Electronic ignition.

That hackability of current vehicles and the push for steer by wire is crazy.

Many cars with the right people, can lock you in and drive you into a barrier or off a bridge before you figure out what is happening already.

This is a problem internally.

All because of government mandates for your safety.

It's not a conspiracy theory....it is an actual capacity.

the sad thing that no one is mentioning here is that this is not just a leftist/ democrat bill. yes they introduced it and got it going, but i'll bet quite a few Republican supported and voted for this as well and if they didn't vote "yes" to it, I;ll bet they abstained from voting at all just so they couldn't be called to the carpet by their constituents that put them in office. if anyone has a link to how this was voted on post 'er up.

Remember, both Democrats and Republicans want the same thing: control. One side is a bit more open on how they do it.

Well... Side X will load a bill full of “extra bullshit” that side X wants to sneak past the tax payer... then side X will put just enough “extra bullshit” that side Y wants into a bill to get side Y to vote for it.
Side X gets everything they want.
Side Y gets a good amount of what they want.
The taxpayer gets fucked.

*side X and side Y are 100% interchangeable at any given moment in above scenario.
