Inertia Switch Remote Kill Switch Question - Insight Appreciated!

I hate that dam switch I keep kicking it by accident at work ( I sit in the pas side of truck) and my truck wont start i have to reset the switch

Then the switch is bad... it's a one time use item.

Replace the switch, once it has been tripped its broken inside so will easily trip again, by kicking or slamming a door, or going off a curb, or..........ect

The reset it just ment to allow moving the vehicle, IF POSSIBLE, after an accident

You could put a shield around it so it can't be kicked, that wouldn't hurt its primary function

I had it replaced a 5 years back after the mech told me I had to get a new fuel pump 1300 cad later I drive my truck home all good head out the next day truck starts acting up then I heard a click I remembered right then about those switches called the mech shop back asked them if they checked that first of course they didnt ,truck towed 40 KMs to there shop so they can replace the switch its a really stupid place to put that switch

You need a new mechanic. And a new switch...

It was put behind the kick panel, high up in alot of years, and its in the truck on most Ford cars
So you can move it behind the kick panel, just use the same gauge or larger wires if you need to add to the length

Cut the wires(key OFF, lol) so you can used the same connectors, and extend the wires as much as you need, heat shrink or tape up the splices real good :)

Well a side note on this is: You really don't want to activate the inertia switch very often. They tend to go to the off position more easily after they have toggled off and on several times. My 94 took enough of a hit to trip the switch at some point in it's life and when I got it you could bang on the frame with a hammer and trip it (ask me how I know). I was freeing up a rusted spare tire holder.
