I noticed on the 2004 and newer rangers that the rear cargo lamp (white-red-white), that would illuminate the bed when turned on was removed, and replaced with just the red third brake lamp housing. Is the 1993-2003 cargo lamp a direct swap into the place of the 2004+? If it is, is the wiring already there, like the fog lights in older models, where the wires were there, all you had to do was install the lights, relay, fuse and switch? Or is it way more involved?
Basically, on a 2004, can I can get the cargo lamp functionality back with a drop in component?
If not, what would it take, and does anyone have the wiring diagrams of the 2003 and a 2004+ to compare it to? I realize the replacement housing would be required, but what about wires, or a switch replacement possibly?
Thanks.
