Hidden snorkle

With a 2 inch pipe as opposed to 3" it might actually get a little sluggish, but shouldnt, the old ford intakes had a section that narrowed the airflow down to 2 inches on the old 2.3l mustangs, not much difference with or without.

and I will be running through only the snorkle so little it doesn't even matter

it's not like there is a lot of water in the desert haha

Go find you a flash flood spot and chill for a couple nights, LOL.

the streets do get really bad when it does rain, but it has been sunny 100 degree days for the past 2 weeks and no rain in the forcast haha

I'm going to have to find a swimming pool or something

cool idea...If I didn't stress this in one of your other threads, but your truck is one of my fave 03+'s, the all black is sick, and those pitbulls are sicker.

good looking ranger camo! where are you at in this desert?

maybe i missed it but where do you plan to bring the top of the snorkle? i've been thinking of something for a snorkle myself. but haven't exactly figured it out yet

west texas and that is the top of the snorkle inside the cowl. A good 14 inches above the stock box. If I get more than that I am in more trouble than I need to be

i feel the same way, mine is a cowl hood with a sealed airbox picking up air out of it, (see the weather-strip)

my thoughts were if i am in enough water to be above my hood.........well :shok:

but i do like that sliding valve, is it in a place that you can open it and close it on the fly?

no just goes a few inches into the cowl

exactly and I have to pop the hood and close it or open it.

Closed it last night because it rained suddenly, and I didn't feel a difference in throttle response or anything

I did basically the same thing except i ran it up into the fender and into the cowl. It won't be sealed, the gasket on the air filter will let water in, I found that out when i let water drench the engine. Don't get me wrong, it sure did help and prevent the engine from sucking it right in! just an fyi

open up the cowl drains too
