H1 beadlock question

I have a question about H1 beadlock wheels... Is there anywhere that I can get them in a bolt pattern to fit a Dana 30? Any info is appreciated!

The H1 Beadlock wheels are heavy, with any tire combination. I would get a set of DIY beadlock rings and just add them to a set of black steelies, get aluminum beadlock wheels $$, or step up to bigger axles before running the H1's:icon_thumby:.

I have a set of Trail Worthy Fab wheels and they are close to 100 lbs when fully assembled. My ttb 35 already doesn't like the weight and your D30 won't either.

Are DIY rings legal in California for onroad use?
 
I just got off my ass and did some research on my own for once... It seems like beadlock laws are very vague... From what I can make out the wheel just needs a DOT stamp and it doesn't say anything about modifying wheels and it never specifically says you can't have a beadlock wheel on road.... Anyone know if I'm on the right track?
 
From what I've heard it depends on how assholish the cop wants to be. I only know that in TX the wheel needs to say DOT approved, as well as the tires. When I resided in CA I wasn't playing with trucks yet so never had this problem. I know that doesn't help much but you can call the DMV and ask. I had a question before and just called them, had a clear cut answer after I listened to elevator music for awhile.

haha... the DMV suuuckksss. but when i get to that point in my build i guess ill call em about beadlocks
 
There is nothing in the CVC, or any states vehicle code about beadlocks. The issue that comes up is a federal regulation that basically says that all roadgoing wheels have to be DOT stamped, but nothing preventing a manufacturer from DOT stamping a beadlock wheel.

With that said, most beadlocks are not DOT stamped. But there are DOT stamped beadlocks available. H1's are DOT stamped.

So does that mean that it is illegal to run non DOT stamped wheels?
No. The lack of a DOT stamp means that the wheel does not meet DOT standards. It is also the legal way for a manufacturer to say that they are not liable for the misuse of their product.

What happens if you get caught with non DOT stamped wheels? Do they confiscate them? Give you a fine?
I don't know. I don't know anyone who has ever been sighted for non DOT stamped wheels, nor have I heard of anyone ever being sighted for it.

What are the chances of being caught with non DOT stamped wheels?
Do you really think that that nice CHP officer who pulled you over is going to crawl under your filthy ass truck in his nice clean uniform to look for a DOT stamp that might not even be visible.
