@JoshT @Rick W
This isn't really the right forum for this discussion. So, I'm going to attempt to tread lightly here.
JoshT, there are good churchs out there, finding them is just getting harder and harder. And like Rick said, they are setup and run by imperfect human beings. So, there are going to be disagreements. The particular church I belong to is a huge church and has aspects that I don't like, but they preach the Gospel and do outreach and missions at a local, regional, and world wide level. So, they meet the basic precepts.
Rick, Christianity is and is supposed to be a personal relationship with our Creator and Savior. The church is supposed to be a place of instruction, interpersonal relationship, and correction so as to keep us all on the right path. Unfortunately, many churches have changed it into a religion. Religion has never saved anyone.
I'll stop there, otherwise, I'll get into finger pointing and possibly some kind of forum violation or argument that isn't intended or wanted.
I grew up in the Eastern Orthodox Catholic church and have spent some time in Roman Catholic and Presbyterian churches. Enough to get a good impresion on them. The church I go to now is nondenominational, but based on the Anglican church tradition. Think the Church of England, which is based on the Roman Catholic service, but Americanized to some extent. Mainly, the King or Queen of England is not the head of the church nor is one their Archbishops.
Any deeper discusion on the matter needs to move to PM or to the proper forum out of respect to the forum owner and the forum itself.
