ya,it seems we all want to build a million dollar rig on a hundred dollar budget.

that's when the balance becomes sweat equity:icon_welder:

looks like it will.i can't do pics right now because my interwebby thingy is ssllllooooowwwwwww tonight,i can't even see pics on threads.
anyway,i got the struts together(shortened 4 1/4'')and things placed where they need to be.just planning out my mounting points right now.

Right on gwaii!

those look really good, but the way i'm going to do it won't cost me any money.i have to keep the costs down on this thing-while making it look like i didn't cheap out.

Yeah I wasn't meaning to buy those, to damn expensive. I think they want around $450 for the ones that would fit your setup. Hell they want $400 for the ones that fit my Probe, I only paid $500 for the car. Just sounded similar to the idea you had in mind and though it might help with the inspiration. Should-a-known you already had it figured out.

still,i love the input.like you said,it can help with the inspiration-and good ideas don't cost anything:icon_thumby:

some photos from yesterday(net's back to normal)

the shaft from the strut....

to shorten it,i thought of getting all fancy and re-machining the end,but cut and weld is way quicker.i went low enough on the shaft to keep the weld away from the seals and guides, and high enough that the heat could be controlled at the piston end(don't want to damage anything there).i also figured it would be a good idea to close up the hole i drilled in the end of the tube.

the strut assembled, and the spring just placed on it for a size comparison to the bmw one.still need to make pads for these.

everything blocked and clamped again to figure out mounts.

the front mount for the lower arm.i just need to put it a crossmember in front of this with a tab for the mount to bolt to.

what do you have for a welder gwaii?

i seem to be seeing that guy a lot lately...

That pretty much covers my reaction to all your builds . The limo truck, the ploder, this one, the wheelie machine, the ranger (my fav), and the ranger powered Air Compressor

i guess things get a little odd around here sometimes.i'm swearing at the limo truck right now.been putting off fixing an exhaust manifold gasket for over a year.decided to bite the bullet and do it today.

one exhaust manoflod gasket should not be an all day job.sigh.

does it have the 460 in it?
