Facebook marketplace sucks

About a year ago I was kicking around the idea of selling my b2. I threw it up on marketplace and had a pretty disheartening experience with people just wanting to beat on my truck for 15 minutes and then leave without even a callback.

I took it off MP for the winter and have been so busy with college I haven’t really driven it. I finally got out today and drove the old girl for a while and I remembered why I loved the truck so much. Sadly though I do need to downsize to move and the likely I’ll have to part with the truck. If you look through my post history I have been messing with this thing for years, changing the engine, drivetrain, lifting it etc etc.

I’ve been a member of this forum for years and you guys have helped me fix, troubleshoot, and modify my trucks, which I greatly appreciate.

I’m making this post to see if there are any members in the CT, RI area who might be interested in the bronco. I’ve pretty much made up my mind that I won’t sell the truck unless it goes to a kid who wants to learn how to turn a wrench or to someone who understands and appreciates these older rangers and b2s. If anyone thinks they might be interested shoot me PM and I can send over more info. I would really love this to go to a good owner rather than end up in storage for the next few years.

Facebook everything sucks. I still have good luck with good old craigslist. my younger friends/fams use offerup a lot.

I liked “letgo” but it got bought out or merged with offer up and I dont like their platform. Ive sold & bought a few things on marketplace, its a lot more local than that list of craig. I dont like/use fakebook though.

There always seems to be a lot more postings on Facebook, but I don’t have an account.

I’ve had decent experiences last couple times I bout something off Craigslist.

They all do, but its usually pretty obvious. They're more buyers than they are sellers, its easier to pay with fake money than it is to sell fake stuff. Plus its not that many, most ads and ad respondents are just regular folks trying to buy/sell regular crap.

Fleabay motors is alright too. Also Instagram apparently has a marketplace now, but I haven't messed with it yet. Then there's auction places Ritchie bros. My buddy that does commercial concrete has gotten some smokin deals bidding there.

I love tools and machines.

The manual transmission will be the deal killer $ for your vehicle, just not that many people know how to drive them. I bought my current B2, traded two Mosin 31/90s for it about 6 years ago, off CL.

As for Facebook, "Zuckerberg" who renounced his USA citizenship to save on taxes, is just a family actor " named Jacob Michael Greenberg, grandson of David Rockefeller. " aka "Jacob Greaves, a reporter for that fake news channel, Russia Today (RT)"

I quit FB a while ago and now you would have to pay me $1000 an hour (or probably 4 gallons of gas in 2023?) to voluntarily use it, even then I might turn it down.

The only caveat I would have about any local listing such as CL, is having people dropping by to scope it out to steal it or parts. I think it would do much better on Evil-Bay.

He disappears once in a while... he’ll show back up like nothing happened.

Rusty got overwhelmed by starting 42 different arguments, at the same time, in different threads.

I just talked to Adsm the other day. He’s got a lot going on and doesn’t sign on much.
