So I just thought of this. Would having swapped engines out of a 93 ranger into a 92 ranger require me to use the computer in the 93 as well?
 
No, the engines themselves are the same aside from the EGR flow sensor which wouldn't do anything connected to a '92 complete harness and computer.
 
1989 thru 1994 2.3l engines are interchangeable, earlier and later would not work
